Hello, LEGO® fans! This the first castle I have ever made, Rodghagen Castle. It took me ten days to build this MOC, and it is my largest MOC, and in my opinion, my best MOC so far! Enjoy! :)
About this creation

Here you can see an overview of the model.

Another overview.

The side of the castle with part of the battle taking place.

The left side of the castle.

A nice front shot of Rodghagen Castle.

This is Duke Rodghagen himself. Rodghagen is a kind-hearted man who just wants peace and to attain holiness. However, when enemy soldiers attack his estate, he does not know exactly what to do as is depicted here…

This is the main gate that leads into Rodghagen Castle.

Here you can see the drawbridge and iron gate mechanisms.

As we enter into the castle, we are instantly greeted by a funny little scene; a barbarian has stolen a carrot from a very unhappy serf lady.

As we head over to the market, we can see the store owner sweeping. Business is hard for him, but he tries not to complain…

His wife’s job, on the other hand, is just about as easy as shooting fish in a barrel…

Here is an overview of the market area.

I do believe that someone is hiding underneath that barrel…

This is a small medieval cart I made.

Here is a peasant lady gathering some water at the castle well.

Someone forgot to chop the wood…

The blacksmith is one of the hardest working serfs in the castle. He is a master of his trade and takes great pride in his work.

It looks as though he has been making some spears lately.

Here a peasant boy is feeding one of the knight’s horses.

Let’s take a trip upstairs to see the rest of the castle! Here you can see a helmet with Rodghagen’s signature colors, green and gold.

As we head up, we look back at the stairs from which we just ascended.

There is a door that leads from the serf cottage to the castle. If ever there is an attack, the serfs can simply go through this door.

This is the Cathedral’s doors.

Here they are opened up.

I also added a nice stain glass window. The colors of the glass are yellow and blue.

This is the big window on the Cathedral and a nice Cross with an emerald at the top.

During the building process, I went to a local Church and took some pictures of the beautiful big window.

I think I did a pretty good job of replicating the design.

This is the serf’s cottage.

As you can see, it provides the water to make a moat around Rodghagen Castle. The mill also makes wheat which is used for bread.

Two archers guard the walls of Rodghagen Castle.

Here is a nice overview of the main gate area.

Here is a shot of the battle.

Here an archer with a crossbow awaits for the right time to fire.

Two knights in hand-to-hand combat.

Here is another overview of the battle.

Hang in there, buddy! You can defeat him!

The swords clash…

…the catapults await to launch…

…an evil knight begins to charge.

The knights rush to help their king…

…who appears to be under attack.

Even the barbarians have come to assist the enemy knights!

Yet another view of the battle.

This is a great view of the diorama!

The Cathedral really looks good here!

Here’s another overview.

And another…

…and another.

This is a distant overview.

And here you can see my little photo area.

The rest are just some nice finishing touch pics…

Enjoy!

HAPPY BUILDING, HAVE A GREAT DAY, AND GOD BLESS! :)

Quoting Alex Sonny Very nice, while not as fancy or well built as some other castles, it sure makes up for it with all the details! The interior of the castle is the best, with the market place and the church. There is a lot of room for improvement, but this is very good in itself. besides, who am I to judge, I only build vehicles ;)
Thank you, Alex! :)

Quoting Elvish Brick Ah, it is finished! Very nice castle. I would recommend that you add more variation to the ground outside using green plates, but otherwise, it's quite good!
Thank you so much! Yeah, I was going to try to add some ground foliage, but for the sake of the minifigures havning enough room in the diorama, I decided not to. Thanks again for the comment! :)

Quoting Cheryl P Now we're talking. A Castle with everything. Great brick work, a draw bridge, moat, water wheel, and scads of minfig activity. All built on a flat plate. No need for fancy cliffs and platforms here. You created an awesome Castle.
Thank you! I was originally debating whether or not to put the castle upon cliffs. I think I made the right choice. Thanks again! :)

Wow! Hold on I have to pick my jaw up off the floor :-) this is stunning! I love the cathedral , the round window and the cross look fabulous . I like all the figures interacting with one another , especially the girl with the butchers knife. Love the waterwheel that's awesome you rarely see anybody include one in a castle and yet they would be so useful . Stellar work , excellent
