Hello, my fellow MOCers / GAIAns! This year, Iīve spent my summer holidays in Opatija, Croatia and I thought that this was a nice place to introduce to you my sig-fig and the newest revision of the GAIA Lughnasadh Fire. The Mark III. Bummer, I almost forgot to post the pictures THIS YEAR 2013!
About this creation
Approaching the croatian adriatic shore, where crystal clear water meets the rocky caostline

Flight from the RMC Aeronautics headquaters in Germany was a pretty short one in this fine piece of german engineering.

Newest anti-grav technologies give the Mk III the capability of a soft vertical landing.
Although, during a battle, more conventional touch downs are preferred.
The just work faster.
Anti-grav tech still helps in reducing the stress affecting the structures.

(Added a little dust effect, here...)

(...and here. I think it looks quite nice!)

No matter how much fun this flight is, nothing beats some fresh sub-mediterranean air.

"Hi there!"

"I am Marc R.unde, callsign 'Edge', CEO of RMC Aeronautics and representative of the United Systems Of Sirius in the The Galactic Anthropic Imperial Armada"

Controls and computers inside the cockpit are reduced to an absolute minimum to ensure a most intuitive operation.

"Letīs take a look around."

"The most significant change to the Mk II is the newly designed nose section with an optimized FTL-drive and sensor array, incorporating the infamous snake head design."

"The overall size of the FTL-drive could be dramatically reduced, thus allowing the addition of the anti-grav generator."

"Pretty sleek, isnīt she?"

"To reduce production costs, we switched from a variable weapons system, as used on the Mk I prototype , to a fixed one. But, donīt think that sheīs less deadly now!
Here we see two of the four missile mounts, with an (green) Eraser[EMP]- and (yellow) Firestalker- missile installed."

"The engines. Looking pretty much the same as the ones used on the Mk I, but completely different. They use no normal fuel burning system, as they are fed with solar plasma syphoned directly from a star. The internal micro fusion reactor is only used for generating energy for an emergency FTL jump, or for opening the worm portal for the solar plasma drain."

"Ahh, the main weapon, the 20mm M610 GAUSS-4 Volcano Railgun."

"4000 to 8000 rpm play the blues to every Draggone!"

"The only snakeīs teeth Iīd come that close."

"Comfy enough for a little nap!"

"About 11 kilometers (~7 miles) from here you see the city of Rijeka."

"I think, Iīll check out whatīs going on there. Bye, bye, and thanks for watching."

Feeling pretty safe behind this windscreen, made of ultra lightweight bulletproof glass.

Anti-grav engines started...

...take off...

... main engines on

One small cup for a man, but on huge barrel for a minifig!

Quoting Parrington Levens Right on dude, killer shape. The engine array just looks so good, hel the whole package, very refined lines. And good to see the Marc sig-fig update, lol, way to travel dude. And did I spy some bullet hole stickers? Samhain Fire and Lughnasadh Fire look, well like each other, not like anything else, not a Viper, not an X-Wing not a VicViper, none of them, and yet...
Ha! The sig-fig was overdue, seven years on the Pages without one...! Youīre right with the bullet hole stickers, got them from the '5973 Hyperspeed Pursuit' set. Never been a friend of stickers, but they look too cool on the Lughnasadh Fire.

Quoting El Barto ! Great scenery for a killer ship! Must have been a blast. But how'd you do that last one where it looks to be flying?
Oh, that was easy! Two pictures of the same location, one without anything and one with me holding her in my hand. Just had to cut the ship out!

Quoting Alex Sonny A really wonderful creation! The rear cockpit design only slightly reminds of an X-wing, but the rest is unique and well designed, especially the front with all the greebles. And I'm glad to see you enjoyed yourself in Opatija, I was there myself in early November.
Never thought of the X-Wing, I actually had a muscle car in mind. We've been there in August and it was a really good time. Hope you had a blast there!

Quoting clayton Marchetti Sweet fighter Marc . I love the shape of the wings and the detailing on the nose. I like the two red fangs on the tip of the nose. Awesome cockpit and a really cool sig fig!
Hehe, thanks. I'm glad that he actually looks a little bit like me.
