The final member of the Second Toa Rela team, I present Arkoz, the Cog, Toa of Magnetism.
About this creation
T H E _ C O G

Name: Arkoz (AHR-KOHS)
Codename: Cog
Species: Matoran
Race: Fa-Toa
Gender: Male
Element: Magnetism
Kanohi: Mask of Psychometry
Origin: Fa-Rela
Occupation: Defender of Rela Nui
Affiliation: 2nd Toa Rela
Armaments: None
Status: Alive
Personality: Arkoz is seen as the antithesis to Rayja. While she is a strong warrior with a fiery temper, Arkoz is a gentle giant. Earlier in his life, this Toa was not very intelligent, but disliked being the big dumb brute, and made an effort to educate himself. He is now quite wise, sometimes the only Toa Rela to see the bigger picture, and constantly seeks knowledge, wearing a Mask of Psychometry to help him in this pursuit. Despite his intellectual side, though, Arkoz is a formidable fighter simply due to his brute strength, though he does not possess anger like Tuandu or Rayja. Arkoz is not a leader but a follower, a good worker, and has a view of the world that isn't centered around himself, all things which contribute to his nickname of "the Cog".

Oh, and gear functions!

They can also lock up, but that requires holding the MOC in a certain way that would cause it to be out of the frame, so I decided to just film a part of the range of motion. I think it demonstrates the gear function effectively.

Hope you all had a good Christmas and whatnot.

Today, December 28th, marks my two-year anniversary of joining MOCpages. Neat. Oh great, it's the morning of the 29th now. Damn.

This is the last of the New Rela. While I work on their story behind the scenes, on to bigger and better things in MOCing in 2014! Namely the Artahkan Arc.

Amazing! That's all I can say, I especially dig the custom body work especially on the lower legs. I have a lot to learn from builders like you.

I can't say I'm a fan of the blocky torso, but otherwise, this is great. I especially love the swinging arms, as well as the leg design.

Excellent! I love everything on him, I'm glad you used that mask, not many people use it, and usually when they do it doesn't look so well, but you made it work. The body, it's just, so amazing, his legs are also very well done! My favorite of the Toa Rela!

Really great. You can see through parts of the arms, I think those could be more solid. Other than that, I have no nitpicks. Fantabulous MOC.

Nice to see this team complete, neat little project you got here. Overal I like the moc but get the feeling somewhat that you're slowly decreasing in your piece count. The overal look and style of the mocs good but it's got next to no flow with the upper legs being rounded and the body and other areas all blocky. I see some pretty nifty little details like the round, smooth top 1x1's on the upper legs and the hands are something I've never seen before. The function part is nice and I like how it works in with his alternative title of 'Cog'. As I've said, I like the moc overal but it still seems (for lack of a better word) just 'less' than your usual.

Another great MOC, very nostalgic of you to include a gear function. I like the color scheme quite a bit, and the overall design is excellent. Happy MOCing, and I hope to see more from you soon.

Quoting Rennoc ~ The colours are very well spread out through the moc, and the bulk in some areas adds to the overall theme. I still can't believe you pulled off the function for the arm while making everything look good. Oh, I also love the fingers.
Thanks Conner! :)

Sweet! That gear mechanism is really well done! It's simple, like the 2001-2005 years of Bionicle, but it just works so well! I thought it was a cool story choice to make him a sort of "gentle giant" type character. He has amazing capabilities, and yet, he is fairly peacable. :P

YAY! Gears! You don't get alot of gears in BIONICLE MOCs these days, so its always good to see some =)

Those mechanical light gray and orange gaps work great with this moc, especially with that rigid armor. I really like the finger design, I've wanted to do something similar but never had enough of those... finger parts you used. The gear function is a great feature, it brings that old Mata-Metru feel that BIONICLE lost when they strayed from function. Great job all around.

Nice stuff here! Inventive use of colours. I think the shaping is nice (although he does seem a little big for a Toa; heck, maybe that's just the photos) but still, awesome work man!

Quoting Logan Woerner Very, nice, Chro! This reminds me of the Mata Nui era of BIONICLE. Although I have retired from MOCing, your creations always give me that compulsory urge to throw some parts together and post it here. Thank you, and keep on building!!
Thanks Logan! :D

not quite as stream line and smooth as the other toa rela, which is good (differentiation is good). he looks great, and the fact that you worked in a gear function is awesome.

Quoting The Traveler Good job on the upper torso, the shoulders are big, wide, and tall, as I'm sure you intended. Also, I like that the greebles go with his nickname.
They're not greebles, though- did you watch the video? :P

Quoting Toa Infernum Nice! Love it, Chro! Nice work on the proportions and body! You really pulled off the look you wanted. Nice work on the lower legs. I gotta say though... I was REALLY hoping you worked in some sky blue after seeing the poster picture, but he's fine as is. Congrats on your second year! :D
There is sky blue... the backdrop! :P

It's COGnificent! =) Like that Technic-work on the abdominal area, and also the leg structure, particularly the closure and fit-work, there. (Working gear-action was a neat addition, too =>) Cheers, Chrono!

Noice. Nostalgia is nostalgic. I think the shoulders do look a little bit awkward, ironically because of that function lol. The idea is awesome, too. Gentle giant. I want one.

Nice! The colors and body design are very nostalgic, and it's awesome that you used gears. Bionicle was originally based on gearbox systems after all, and I absolutely love when people actually use them :D
