in the past weekend we three Latlug members went on a journey to Estonian capital city Tallin to visit local Lego builder Tatu and check out his lego city and lego collection.
About this creation
over the years Tatu has filled up approximately 40 square metres of place with all kinds of lego creations. the main attention grabber is a huge Lego city layout. laid out on approximately 10 square metres Tatu's Lego city is a mix of classic town stuff built next to some of the latest lego city creations. there is so much going on in the two levels of this city layout that your eyes are sparkling in happiness while watching it all.
apart from the great city layout there are shelves packed with some of the greatest Lego technic, creator and city sets ever made.
here we can see the building area. the working surface is already filled with lots of work-in process sets. and of course tons of drawers filled with pieces to make the mocs and city scenes more interesting.
as we can see from the pictures this place overpacked with lego and that leads us to the target of our visit- to help Tatu move his city and lego stuff to new and more spacious place. at the moment it s a completely blank room but soon it s gonna burst into lego citizen activity. as well as countless new lego houses are going to be built and many cars will burn their rubber by on the streets. last but not least the train trail system will also be present in the layout.
and so the process of dismantling the city has began. Tatu takes off table plates which were holding up the highest level city. block by block the old city layout disappears into storage boxes. the new layout will be completely redesigned and with a fresh planning.
Baltic Lego ambassador Lauris with a precision of clockwork gathers all the small detais and creations into storage boxes
and here s how the well known car moc builder Rolands Kirpis sucks into his magnetic hands the collection of cool lego boxes
brick by brick the city is disappearing from it s location
and a van packed with all kinds of lego goodies is on it s way to the new lego city location
countless hours of moving bricks have given a result and most of the collection has reached it s new home safely. we receive thumbs up for a greatly done job and go home in a good mood. Tatu of course will continue the job on development of his new city layout and there will be definately more news in the future about the growth of this project. as far as I know Estonian LUG organizes their gatherings at this place so You can easily check out the latest news on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/ESTLUG/472380789520669

a classic approach to city building, awesome collection, lots of great vintage pieces, I mostly like the multi-level of the layout, while you re-design it, you should consider street parkings and sidewalks, it would look more breathable, the most common city critic is that it looks cramped, I get that a lot, xd.
good luck in your re-management!
the owner of the place is planning the opening of the new city layout in approximately mid January 2014 and lego builders from Baltics are welcome to be guest. would be great to meet You there ;)
