LoM: Freeing a Captive Pt.1
I have begun my journey to the city of Carthal for the Tourney. My company left on foot (with a few horses and baggage). We have been traveling quite a few days when an unexpected thing happened…
About this creation

For The Lands of Mythron.

This MOC is a collaborative build with Matt W.

My companions and I are ahead of the rest of my company and are in deep discussion. We are headed towards the city and haven't seen anyone yet today.

Jalsk (the soldier on the right): Have you met with the leader of the Crimson Knights yet?

Avelese: Not yet, but I can’t wait to meet him. I’ve heard he is not like other outlaws...

Then, we noticed a head behind the ruins up ahead...

We readied our swords and entered the ruins cautiously...

We looked and saw a man, chained up.

Suddenly I heard a yell, and a man with an axe rushed towards us.

He swung his axe straight at my head. Luckily, his swing was clumsy and I deflected it...

...And finished him off with a stab.

We brought the prisoner out to the road for a quick chat.
Avelese: Who are you, and why were you guarded by that man?

Marcus: Thank you for saving me! My name is Marcus; and my friend, Anthony, and I were captured by the pirate John Levee at the Red Vine Inn. We were separated to help that pirate smuggle some goods into his hideout. I don't know where they took him.

Avelese: Captured, Hmm... We won't let you go free yet. However, this John Levee fellow sounds a bit familiar. And I don’t like those who take random people as prisoners… Anyway, come with us.

Then, as we started out, we heard a voice:
Pirate John Levee: What ya'll doin' with my prisoner? You can't come here and take him away without payin' John Levee first!

John Levee: And yur going to pay with yur lives! Boys, attack these landlubbers!

Suddenly, multiple pirates jumped out onto the path and began running towards us!

My two soldiers were completely caught off-guard and were killed immediately by the pirates.

Furious that two of my men were killed mercilessly, my two companions and I charged the pirates...

...And began combating the pirate crew.

Then one of the pirates threw his knife. It was headed directly towards me!

Luckily, the knife narrowly missed me...

...And landed in the grass beside me.

I engaged John Levee in combat. We to be equally matched.

Meanwhile my men were fighting the other pirates.

The pirate John Levee was a good fighter and soon I was getting pushed back by his blows.

To make matters worse, my sword flew out of my hand. The pirate then raised his sword to kill me... I thought that this was it... that my life was over...

Suddenly, the pirate stopped and cried out in pain. I looked and there was the prisoner, stabbing the pirate in the back! He must have grabbed the knife that flew by me and waited for the opportunity to strike.

And the pirate dropped dead! I was stunned, why did this man just save me?

Soon the battle was over, with all the pirates lying dead on the ground. Then I said “Release Marcus and let him go!”

A bit shocked, I said to him: "You saved my life. That is why I am letting you go free. I have a bit of spare time before I need to be in Carthal for the Tourney. If you want, I can help you look and find Anthony, for I see that you are a “good” outlaw…”
