With all the CS pocket money contest hype going on, I decided to go and make some CS models myself. I have a lot of original (although used) CS parts, from many sets (more than just the 6 of which I have preserved instructions). This however is not my CS contest entry, this is just a model I made as a warm-up.
About this creation
This is a Explorer Fighter - meant for exploring, but it can also defend itself if needed. I was going for the old CS look with crude shapes and the usage of the colours white, blue, grey and trans-red. I also decided to add some functions to it, as most CS builds were oriented towards exploring rather than space-battles (and I liked it that way).
However, I would like to apologise for the all-over-the-place style of build (random colours and the cluttered design) and the uber-old parts, but I was in a sort of nostalgia frenzy and I just went like "ohmygod I haven't built something like this in ages!". I had to post it because now I'm gonna strip it apart and build you all a proper spaceship :D
The cockpit behind the windshield. All done in CS style: Bare controls, not much detail, crude shapes...
Very swooshable, you just have to hold it right. SWOOOSH!
The bottom part of the hull lowers down (in this case, the craft goes up) to reveal the one and only function:
Two grasp-hand-thingies that were used so much in CS. I really love these parts still.
I decided to make the thing stand (hover) on its own for the photoshoot.
The pilot with his trusty self-defence-only blaster.
I have absolutely no idea where I got this minifig from. It might be from the Insectoid series of sets, but I have no other parts from then. If anyone knows please tell me!
The really old CS pocket money instructions I have, they were passed down to me from my brother. I have more, but some were torn and a few are plastified.

BTW, who/what is that picture, in your logo?
It's a character from some comic I once read. He's a walking dog type creature, and in this picture he's smiling. I never intended on using this, I was planning on making a pixelart logo for a while, but somehow I just keep forgetting.. :P

This is a lovely drawing. I don't care if all of this is realised, I personally like anything you build as the Ice Planet theme is one of my favourites too, and you are the one reviving it :D
Thank you, Alex. I've added you as a fav builder because your work interests me. It may interest you to know that I am building an Ice Planet Monorail. Work in Progress photos coming soon.
Quoting Windfire (UK)
The figure is from the UFO line in... (digs out the paper catalogs) ...1997. It's one of the commanders from 6975. I probably bought six of those for the big quarter domes.
Thanks! Yes, it does appear to be from 6975, but where is the rest of it!? I don't have any of the parts in the set, no domes, no canopies or radar dishes. This scraped old minifig remains a mistery, but it's by far my favourite.
