Tesla Model 99 "Spectrum Surveyor" Pocket Set
(alternate models: 48)The Spectrum Surveyor is an all weather, interplanetary, re-entry capable, single stage to orbit exploration and spectrum analysis vehicle. (space plane) The main photo is the main model. it is brick built in the usual way for the most part.
About this creation

Click to see the updated model.

The set has 99 pieces with a wide variety of different parts. It is meant to be reconstructed into as many different small vehicles as possible. The Spectrum Surveyor could be thought of as the starter set for a builder's growing tesla collection. I intend to make 99 different models with this set, so check back often.

Back quarter. What are wheels doing on a space plane? Keep scrolling to find out.

The sensor dish folds out.

Or the entire sensor cluster detaches and unfolds to become a scout drone.

Or it folds a slightly different way to become a field deployable SATCOM terminal. The scoop folds down over the front of the spacecraft.

The cockpit detaches to become a rover.

The sensor cluster attaches to the rover to become a scanner vehicle

Bottom. The landing gear move.

Look at all those parts.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
These alternate models will help clean up so that I can build some alternate models.

Bulldozer. (1)

Dump truck. (2)

Wheelbarrow. (3)

Digger. (4)

Scanning for the last of the mess. All clean. (5)

A flying alternate: (6)

Front quarter

Bottom. landing gear move.

Another flying model: (7)

Front.

Back

Bottom.

Another flying model, this time with fold up wings. (8)

Some hopper models. These use the offset plates and dishes as the bottom.

Basic hopper (9)

elaborate hopper (10)

SATCOM dish. (11)

Scanner hopper. (12)

Covered hopper (13)

Stand up cargo hopper (14)

Stand up scout scooter (15)

sport crater jumper (16)

Tripod pattern hoppers. These use 3 dishes rather than 4 for an interesting look.

communications or radar outpost. With dish and terminal. (17)

Back side

Fast tripod hopper. (18)

Back quarter

Digger tripod (19)

simple beginner tripod (20)

bottom

tripod flier (21)

bottom.

You can also use the tripod as the back of a creation.

Basic flier. (22)

A more elaborate model. (23)

Back side. Thats how you put it together.

Standing up. (24)

Robots. whats a space set without robots? (a robotless space set, thats what)

The most obvious robot model in the set. (25)

Elephant bot. (26)

Derpy the dino-bot. (27)

Another dinosaur. (28)

He may look intimidating, but he is nothing more than a glorified floor lamp. (29)

He may look goofy, but this robot chicken is a force for destruction. (30)

A drone bird. (31)

A pair of folding wing hoppers.

Folding wing hopper with scanner. (32)

Landed with wings folded.

Covered folding wing hopper (33)

Landed.

Here are a few alternates that reproduce the playability of the main set. They use a common orbiter/lifter stage.

A truck flyer. (34)

Back quarter

The 3 parts.

The scanner attached to the truck.

Hopper and space plane combo. (35)

Detatched. The sensor cluster fits on the front of the hopper.

Put a wheeled scanner on a space plane. (36)

Lets see how close we can get the scanners before they destroy each other in a feedback loop.

Space digging is serous business that justifies a special digging spaceplane attachment. (37)

Complete with its own control panel.

This one is not meant for re entry. (38)

The cockpit becomes a little stand-up flying machine.

A suspiciously nondescript van... (39)

...is actually a SATCOM terminal.

Relaxing at the base. (40)

A work truck (41)

The tool rack flips up.

A satellite radio truck. (42)

Sailing catamaran. (43)

A trans green boat (44)

A little car. (45)

Some AGE and a drone. (46)

A flying model. (47)

back.

An interesting wing design on this alternate. (48)

Back quarter.

Front.

New alternate models added daily! Will I be able to make 99 models?

Love it! It is amazing that you are able to create so many alternate models with just those parts that have so much playability. I really like how the main model is able to separate how it does.

Quoting Yuri Fassio Tons of alternates! Cool set, though I'd have gone with t-blue for the windscreen and lights. Not sure if t-b-green was the best match for yellow. Love the playing features on the main model :)
I wanted to stick with the theme colors for my tesla series of models.

Quoting Commander Cold Great work, sir. I had seen you uploaded one before, but when I clicked on the link, It said, "File Not Found". Hmmmm..... .....The playability on this is exceptional. I can't think of a CS set that would have so many different modules on one 100 piece or less model. I may have to upgrade my entry to have any sort of chance against this! -CC
I wasn't 100% satisfied with the pictures I took of it before, and needed to make a few last minute revisions to a couple parts here and there.
