Magic Christmas Cards 2013
He had no gift to bring, but his music
About this creation
May you find peace and love in a season filled with the music of the celestial spheres! Some astronomers have theories about what the Star of Bethlehem really was and whether the Nativity really took place in winter. Some believe it was in spring, if indeed shepherds were out tending their flocks!

Once again, and for the last year, I'm making Xmas cards incorporating a picture of the last of the simple figures from a LEGO Nativity set I made years ago.
Below is the original photo that I took of the pieces before I disassembled them.
Did you notice the StoveTop? ;)

Quoting David Roberts Happy New Year! I love the shepherd's stripy crook. Is it made from sugar? I can just imagine him hooking a sheep and it turning around and munching the crook!
Ha, ha! These have a certain nostalgic appeal to me, as this nativity set was probably the first real build in LEGO I ever did! I kept it assembled for years and even displayed it sometimes. The pieces have now all been dissassembled are returned to my parts jars! :)

Thanks, I will have to do a new build next year. Perhaps I will try my hand at a LEGO stained glass technique?! Merry Christmas! :)

Quoting Gingerbread Builders I like the lego candy canes.
At the time I made these, I had no black 1x2 slopes, so I went the candy cane route! Anyhoo, a candy cane is supposed to symbolize a sheperd's staff! Happy Holidays! :)

Quoting Nick Barrett Hi Topsy. I have a favour to ask - would you mind if I called the trapeze artist in my MO circus build Topsy ? It seems an excellent name for one with great talent.
I would be honored! I must warn you tho... ha, ha... in the area of gymnastics I barely passed the basics on trampoline and the balance beam! :)

Quoting matt rowntRee Ha! I love these little guys. All the colors are so fun. That hat on the drummer boy is perfect. Who needs minifigs? ;) Awesome Topsy!
If I recall correctly the reason I took the 'coat of many colors' route with the drummer boy is piece availablity. I built these when I had a very small LEGO inventory! Hope you are gradually adjusting to Zoe's passing. We lost our last kitty the Monday before Thanksgiving. This was the year we lost all our old and ageing pets. I did not realize I was greiving so! We just adopted a very well behaved little Chihuahua from the Humane Society and life is good again! :)

Frank, you have beach on the brain... ha, ha! But... I really think this is more of a desert oasis motif?! Perhaps I may use a beach theme when I build something for The Classic Space Pocket Money Contest II?! :)
