This is my new MBT. It is very unique because of its main armament: a 105 mm railgun. Basically, penetration and damage upon penetration are no longer concerns. Rather, it is now about how to keep said gun safe, supplied, and on the move.
About this creation
For this tank, I stripped my M57 MBT to its suspension, enhanced the suspension so the tracks could role easier, then built a whole new hull and turret. Then I tried my hand at a railgun. It worked, I mounted it on the tank, and now I have my own Anti-Everything Machine.
The suspension is now more durable and practical: the tracks role much easier and don't get caught up over gears. If you make tacked vehicles, you understand what I mean.
It has a multi-fuel turbine engine so it can move fast while keeping armored protection. Only downside is that it eats a lot of fuel. Upside is, it can use several types of fuel.
Claw Paradox is gonna have a fit with me for cutting up those flexible rods for exhaust pipes.
The tracks droop a little so that the return rollers atually have purpose.
Random assortment of luggage.
The main attraction: the railgun.
Hatch opens of course and it can seat a minifig. If this one didn't have a trench coat, he could sit even further down.
It is roomier than it looks.
The driver hatch also opens. Minifigs are to bulky to fit, but that didn't stop me from making it look authentic.
Size comparison with my...light tank...you know I don't even remember its number. I need give these vehicles actual names instead of numbers...
Traditional artillery butt kicking...
My army soldiers. I really need to design my own instead of using these random Indiana Jones soldiers.
And this is my whole army. I have a scout tank, a personnel transport, an artillery (towed), a main battle tank, and a tank destroyer. Now I just need a Self Propelled artillery and I will have a complete army (i think). Don't even ask about air and sea power, I haven't the slightest clue of how to make a fighter jet or a destroyer.
Well that raps this up. I am quite proud of this vehicle, the pictures don't do it justice. I know some smart person will inform me railguns haven't been developed in such a size and this is impractical: sue me. Hope you enjoyed this MOC, if you didn't...well have good reason and tell me what to fix. Thanks for viewing, have a nice thanksgiving/turkey day/just regular day.
Quoting Claw Paradox
the whole thing kinda looks like a Pz. sfl. IVb. The suspension looks a lot better! Nice work. (I envy your spare time, as I am currently swamped with homework.) Oh, and your right-hand exhaust pipe is dented. 5/5
I never thought of it looking like that, but the silhouette does resemble a Pz. sfl. IVb. I'll fix that exhaust pipe pronto. And I know how it feels to be swamped, hope it get's lighter for ya. Thanks for the feedback.
Nice work! Although you may be surprised, I will not say anything about the exhaust pipes. The back kinda reminds me of a Tiger, and the whole thing kinda looks like a Pz. sfl. IVb. The suspension looks a lot better! Nice work. (I envy your spare time, as I am currently swamped with homework.) Oh, and your right-hand exhaust pipe is dented. 5/5
Awesome! Your shaping skills are improving, I love the turret and the rear with the exhaust pipes (very Tiger II-ish)! The front could still use some work, but with that gun I don't think it will be brawling anything soon :D
