"I am Umbra, I guard the mask, You shall not pass"
_Umbra to the Toa Inika
About this creation
"Umbra was created as a servant for the Hand Of Artakha and later used as a guardian for the mask of life. He would guard the mask with his life to stop anyone from using it, even if their intentions were noble"
"None Shall Pass!"
I don't usually measure my mocs but this time I did and he's about average height for my kind of building style and he came to around 25.5cm at full height.
Doesn't mean a thing to me but I know other mocers could tell from that whether it's a big moc, average moc or small moc. As I said though, he's about average for me, probably even a tad bit smaller.
Nobody's really done a revamp of this lesser known character but I always loved his design and overal appearance so it was going to happen at some point.
I never got the Umbra set so his 'keetorange' shoulder parts are not in my possession. Instead I went for larger, system based shoulder pads with the spiked look being achieved by a couple of silver horn/tail pieces.
He has a fair amount of metru-green on him in the official set and unfortunately I don't have much usable pieces but I think I implemented it fine here.
Rather than have his oversized weapon with the rhotuka spinner in the centre, I opted for a more simple, double edged blade that still retains the different coloured ends via trans red/blue pieces rather than the electronic Inika weapons.
His wheels are smaller here than the actual set and I can identify that flaw but it works overal and doesn't take too much away from the final product.
This moc also has another unique torso/base frame to build on aswel as new arms so a few new tricks learned from this moc in terms of torso shaping and limb design.
Overal I think I did fine here. He's not my best work by far but the colours used are appealing to me and Umbra now has a revamp on the net. The only other Umbra I've seen is a wheel-less, black and silver version which is basically an edit.
