Caleb's 4x4 Contest- Round 3: Long Way Down
My round 3 entry in Caleb's 4x4 contest! ***LOST*** Man- 5' 9", brown hair, name 'John'. If found please report to...
About this creation
Caleb's epic 4x4 Contest!
Category- "Lost"
Opponent- The honorable Lindel Baskin

After John inherited the family estate, he determined to fix up the old well in honor of his father who'd gone missing a decade earlier. But this well had been out of commission for generations and slippery moss had taken over. As he leaned in to have a look, little did he know that he wasn't the first to attempt to repair it...

It was a long way down.

(The MOC)

(Policeman in search of missing persons)

(The base of the well. Totally awesome, right? After like 1,000 failed attempts, it better be!)

(One of the failed attempts. I took pictures because I thought this one was going to work!)

(It wasn't easy to build...)

(The skeleton. Could this be John's father? On this level we also see some plumbing, litter, and old bricks)

(I really like how this turned out!)

(Slim oozes from a grate near John. I wonder where it's coming from)

(John covered in mud)

(That face is too perfect!)

(Large sewer pipes run on the bottom level. This one looks old and nasty)

(Some detail work here)

(Lastly, a few shots to prove coherence to the rules)

It was a long way down.

Quoting David FNJ Awesome 4x4 entry!
Thanks! I know what you mean about the color variation. I tried to make it more uniform but didn't have the pieces.

@Alex: actually we're against each other against each other this round, so only one of us can make it to the finals...

You have some amazing details! Although my vote doesn't matter, your opponent got my vote. Simply because of his amazing textures. Congrats on advancing :)

Awesome 4x4 entry! I just wish the lighting was a bit better. Anyway, the details in this are just great (even though I think there may be too much color variation). This was definitely a tough call considering the fantastic shambled look of your opponent's entry, however I leaned a little more towards your build because of the various techniques and details used. You get my vote! ~FNJ

Wow! I think you've nailed this category. The well looks great, and I love any MOC that contains oozing toxic waste. The guy at the top with the flashlight is really the icing on the cake. Great job!

Nice work! I find it a pit cramped..but some of those connections in there! I keep thinking how I could have made my round 1 entry so much better;) ~Brick
