Mi7 JF Interceptor
The Mi7 is one of the most powerful starfighters in the arsenal of the Russian Federation.
About this creation

The Mi7 carries a substantial load of armaments on each wing pylon- two air-to-air missiles on the port wing, and an armor piercing armor-piercing missile on the starboard, while a chaingun is mounted on each wing for short-range engagements.

This fighter is multi-tasking as my Novvember entry and as an entry into the 1st MOX Prize, so here's the Viper shot.

Side view.

Greebles! *Excuse me-* Highly functional systems, all of which are vitally important to optimum vehicle performance. ;)

Like many spaceships, the Mi7 lacks wheeled landing gear to reduce weight during liftoff. To move craft around on the ground, most airbases use some variation of this vehicle.

The truck hoists the front forks into the cradles. Although it's difficult to see in a photo, the rear of the starfighter is held just off the ground by the cradles.

The pilot of this fighter, Kayla Tereshkova, by her ship.

This is my first time editing in a different background on a MOC, so I'm interested to hear how you think I did. The MOX-prize contest relies largely on ratings to determine the results, so if you've scrolled down this far, you might as well give it a rating. Thanks for viewing!

EDIT: For the first time on one of my creations, this fighter made Most Discussed on the Explore page. While not as prestigious as the home page, it's a first for me, so thank you for helping this get there!

Quoting David Roberts A great V-V shape. My favourite view is the rear one, with all of the engine greebles in it, covered by that dark blue canopy piece.
Thanks! (I'm so glad I found that canopy... :D)

Quoting Halhi 141 Nice one! While the shaping is fantastic (the raised rear is very original) and the color choice is great as well, I think the front is a bit too blocky. Nice build nonetheless!
Several other people have already told me the front needs to be smoother, but thanks for the input!

Quoting Scott Johnson Nice! I love the space marine armor but there just arent enough dark blue peices to use it with so its great that they have the dark grey version now!
The old Lego Agents sets were great for dark blue pieces, but it is good to have more options, as well.

Quoting matt rowntRee Now that's just plain AWESOME! Love the compact practicality of it and the fact that you crammed as much hardware in as possible under the wings. Looks agile and tough. Excellent!
Thanks so much! My goal was to design something futuristic yet plausible, so I tried to reflect the weapons arrangements of vehicles like the AH-64 Apache, which also has short, stubby wings packed full of weapons. I'm glad it meets with your approval!

Quoting Commander Spencer, Ultimate Bionicle Fan Nice! It's very smooth. Interesting take on the Vic Viper.
Thank you! I was trying to give a more realistic take on the genre than the more fantastical entries this year (still great starships, every one!)

Quoting JWG 258 The dark blue smooth parts contrast nicely with the dark gray greebles. I like the cockpit section too. I have never seen a canopy positioned like that before.
Thank you! The color scheme was inspired by the work of Bart de Dobblear, on Flickr, who has some of the best scifi dioramas I've ever seen: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46599983@N03/10142184453/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/46599983@N03/8308670360/

Quoting Stormjay Rider Nice ship, both sleek and industrial looking. My only complaint is on the blockiness of the front--that doesn't look natural for a fast type of vehicle. Maybe add some angle plates to the front and make the ends one stud wide?
I actually like it better with the blockiness at the front, since I think it makes a nice contrast with the smoothness on the rest of the ship. Besides, on a ship this small, I couldn't figure out a good way to make the prongs studless without having the ends either square or with an irregular end. Thank you for the comment, though, and I'll see if I can make my next ship more streamlined.

This small size limits the amount of bricks you can use very much. But this means that you managed to use your bricks very well :D Greebles on aft parts with haproons beside cockpit are very sweet :D Good job :D

Quoting Tim C Nice work, Thomas! I like the compact design and the coloring. I also like how you gave it a variety of weaponry. The asymmetry works well. The rear of this ship I think is the biggest win, though. The greebling work back there is top notch. Well done, and good luck in the contest.

Quoting Matt Mason Interesting. The first thing I though of when I saw this was the Dace fighter from Galaxy on Fire 2 (http://galaxyonfire.wikia.com/wiki/Dace). They look very similar, not that it's a bad thing. Nice work!
