A football-inspired Vic Viper design.
About this creation
What if Roger Goodell, commissioner of the NFL, had a custom Vic Viper built for himself? Perhaps it would look something like this. The prongs are made to resemble first down markers (i.e. "the chains"). The wings are modeled after the football field itself, complete with football missile pods (that give a whole new meaning to term "throwing a bomb"). For the cockpit, we have a football helmet, and the tail is inspired by the referee's stripes.

Here's a new picture, giving us a good look at the business end of the Viper:

Quoting Nils O. Cools stuff, a funny theme based VV! Great job! :-)) P.S.: The "Owners Club" (http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/20117) is waiting for entries like this one ;-))
Thanks, and thanks for the reminder about adding this MOC to the appropriate groups -- I had meant to do that, but forgot.

Thanks. Don't tell anyone, but I don't think that chain is going to stretch to a full 10 yards. :)

Quoting matt rowntRee Wonderful! Can't stop laughing. I don't think I want to know what comes with the two point conversion. XD Great job Matt!
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I may yet have one more of these MOCs in me, but I am starting to run a little thin on creativity (and time).

Quoting Topsy Creatori (StoveTopCreator!) The helmet shaping is great and so are the colors! :)
Thanks. I had to try a number of options before I was happy with helmet. I was hoping to be able to use some of the larger rounded arch/dome pieces, but had to resort to using a bunch of smaller pieces when that didn't work. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out.

Quoting clayton Marchetti It's good it's good! Goal! How do you keep the ball from flying out into space? Ha ha! Wow this is really awesome. Love the football helmet cockpit and the wings as the field with the goalposts. Excellent Matt
Quoting clayton Marchetti I just noticed the football bombs under the wings clever
Fortunately, in the event that the ball flies out into space, the ship is equipped with a tractor beam. :) As far as the goalposts and football bombs go -- I was trying to get as many football-related elements into the MOC as I reasonably could. I even tried to make the tail look like the NFL shield, but I couldn't get it to look good enough, so I dropped it.

Quoting Alex Rode Your uses of pieces and colors are absolutely astounding. Well done!
Thanks, Alex. As far as color choices go, I think I usually get the best results when I simply follow the real color schemes. The colors for the first down markers were taken right from a picture of real ones. After I did the green and white wings, I realized that I probably ought to make the rest of ship green as well so that it wouldn't look too busy with too many colors. And you can never go wrong adding a few gray-colored accents.
