Caleb's 4x4 Contest Round 3: Defending the city
My entry to Caleb's 4x4 contest
About this creation
For Round 3 of Caleb's 4x4 Contest in the category "Super heroes".
My opponent is Andrew the Jedi Ninja.

Earthquake attempts to destroy the city from below...

While above, The Minimizer and Gas Man battle as The Minimizer minimizes the city!

Figless.

I had some fun playing around with texture in this cave area. Notice also the use of the hints of dark tan, I think this is the one of the first times I've mixed colors in rockwork (Pretty surprising considering how much rockwork I do...)

The micro hillside city was fun to build. My favorite part is the circular balconies on the skyscraper, made with these.

Back of the rocky area, showing even more textures.

Proof of no overhang (sorry for the bad pictures). For the record, it was pretty difficult to pose all of the figures fairly well while having no overhang.

Name: Gas Man
Power: The ability to create gasoline
Limitations: While he can create gasoline, he must shoot it through a hose in order to use his power.

Name: The Minimizer
Power: The ability to make anything that he can see become smaller
Limitations: Cannot minimize anything that he isn't looking at.

Name: Earthquake
Power: The ability to drill through rock and create earthquakes.
Limitations: It is unknown whether or not his powers may be attributed to the various tools that he is always seen holding.

Thanks for viewing!

As said before, Andrew had some amazing water action. however, yours fits the category better, had lots of details, and was more creative. Congratulations, you have my vote!

Fantastic entry, Halhi! This is one of my favorites from the round. I love your rock work here, and you managed to capture a lot in such a small space. Good luck with the remaining judges!

Nice take on the category! Personally, I like the Minimizer, he would be quite a difficult opponent to defeat!

Srry, but you don't have my vote. Good luck! A great build!!!

The nice rockwork coupled with the miniature city earns you my vote! Even though the water effect in Andrew's build seems more fitting for a super hero category, I think your build captures more detail for an overall better 4x4 MOC. Good luck with the other judges. ~FNJ

Quoting Freeling . Very nice. Though I would have tried to be a lot more creative when making superheroes. Also... The Gas man, or whatever you call him would be very easy to defeat. Just surprise him with a flamethrower, and the flame would lick up any gas that he would shoot out through his hose, while also licking up all of the gas inside the hose until the fire got into his body causing him to explode.
You mean more creative in concepts, names, or designs? Because while I agree that the Minimizer is pretty bland (though necessary), I don't think I've seen many heroes as useless as Gas Man. Or a "supervillain" that doesn't actually have a superpower. I also think that basically anyone would have a problem if you surprised them with a flamethrower :P

Quoting Kai Bernstein Earthquake looks too much like a standard construction worker
Thanks! That was kinda the point of him though, he pretends to have a superpower but he really doesn't :P

This is excellent! Lovely rockwork, as usual, and the circular balcony is a great idea; adds some variety to the would-be boring building. The super-heroes/villain are amusing, though I think Earthquake looks too much like a standard construction worker. The Minimizer's got to be my favorite; I hope he succeeds in defeating Gas-Man. :P

Fantastic build all around! The concept itself is great, but the build shines all by itself. The rockwork, micro building, and landscape all look great, and I'm really impressed that you got this all to fit within the more stringent 4x4 limits for this round. Good luck!
