Early in the growth and expansion of human's into the solar system, it became evident that a fighter craft be developed for counter pirate and rogue colony operations. One of the first was the Bullpup, an ugly but practical fighter. Armed with a rotary cannon and four missiles, and also carrying a drop pod for extended missions.

I like that one! The nose looks a bit unfinished, but that dark blue colour is really nice. Sort of reminds me of the A-10 Thunderbolt with that rotary gun :)

I am a definite fan of B5 and know the craft you are referencing, I have a BL order planned to buy some of the yellow supports in part to build that exact thing. Thanks for looking and the nice comments!

Quoting matt rowntRee I love the practical, gritty, no holds barred aesthetic of your designs. Love those strut pieces for supports/wings. My favorite part is the engine array at the rear. The first thing I thought of, and I see I'm not alone, was the A-10. Coupled with the Gatling on the front, this would prove to be a massively effective fighter a la Thunderbolt. You ought to enter this in Mr. Mitchell's Mox Prize contest. I think the judge might like this. XD

Quoting clayton Marchetti Awesome fighter Ron ! It's funny my first fighter concept was the a-10 too! She's a real beauty!
When constructing this thing I did not really have the A-10 in mind! I was building as compact and lethal a space craft as I could -- it was only after I had completed her that I saw the resemblance. Form does follow function after all. Thanks clayton

Quoting Mike Johnson Ugly, yeah, she's ugly, the same way an A-10 is about to shred a helpless column of vehicles with that gorgeous gun of hers! A fine job in every way and totally GAIA worthy.
The titanium bathtub is definitely a favorite due to fire power and pilot protection as well as the amount of damage it takes and still is able to answer back! Thanks for looking!

Quoting Eric Landreneau Love the placign of maneuvering thrusters and the touch of the open girders (makes me think of the construction ships in Babylon 5). You could have gone even further with the fact that aerodynamics don't matter in space, and given it a more blunt nose. I also like that (unlike much of my stuff) the loadout and scale of the weapons is realistic.
Thanks for looking, and thinking. As to the aero dynamics, I agree, no, but certain shapes do better to deflect particle matter; from dust to bullets things are out there in space. A nose cone is still the best location for sensors like radar and such and delicate electronics need protection, thus the only reason for the shape chosen.
