Hello all! Sorry for not posting for so long, but school etc. got in the way... :( Anyway, here is my imaginary Cougar III Light Combat Car. It is designed for scouting operations in cooperation with heavier armoured vehicles. It hides near the front lines, using its powerful radio detection equipment to pinpoint enemy armour. If necessary it can use its deadly 25 pound howitzer to destroy bunkers and lightly armoured vehicles, or disable heavier tanks with a well placed HE shot to the tracks.
About this creation

The Cougar III has a crew of four: commander, gunner, driver, and radio operator/loader. The commander takes the right side of the turret, the gunner sits at his feet. The radio operator/loader has the left side of the turret to himself (and his ammunition) while the driver sits near the front of the vehicle, under the radio equipment.

Because of the Cougar III's unique role as a scout, it was considered unnecessary (not to mention almost impossible space-wise) to get a fifth crewman to load the gun. During design, the winning argument against the loader was this: That when the Cougar is passively scouting enemy positions the radio operator gives his full attention to his radio. But because of its lack of effective armour, the Cougar takes part in battle only in support of larger tanks; and this renders its radio less necessary. So therefore, the radio operator also loads the gun.

View from behind. The turret can turn 360 degrees; the gun elevates well and actually depresses nicely too. Not that you need that too often with a howitzer... The Cougar is capable of carrying only 20 rounds of ammunition because of size restrictions, and the size of the gun. However, this does not seriously affect the performance because the Cougar almost never takes an active fighting position.

The good old turntables :)

The turret; notice the commander's main periscope in front of the right-hand antenna.

Those turret techniques :D

All around, I think it turned out very nicely for my first armoured car. I like the small size and the grey colour. (And also the big gun...)

BOOM!

Thanks for looking in again! Tell me what you think.

God bless!

Very cool. I like nice, simple, but effective vehicles. :) It was nice of you to show all the ins and outs of your car. My son likes to build vehicles like this. Not that big, but sturdy enough to "play with." :) Well done.
