About this creation
For the 2013 Builder Triathalon.
I chose the category:
"Blowing Up Buster:
Show a scientific experiment going horribly wrong; with the result being an explosion! It could be anything from modern day science, or it could be from Ancient Egypt! You decide the timeline!"

Scientist: "Welcome, Ladies and Gentleman!"

Scientist: "Today I am here to present to you my latest invention - the MC-879! With its molecular scavenging rays, it can successfully turn humans into robots!"

Scientist: "Now who would like to be the first to test the new invention?"

Male twin: "I'll go! I've always wanted to look different from my sister!"
Sister: "I'll go after him!"

Scientist: "Great! Now just sit down here while I figure out how this thing works..."

Overview of the entire scene:

White hovercar.

This hovercar is probably my favorite part of the entire moc. Notice the parts use for the engine, as well as the use of skis. (Sadly I forgot to take a picture of the bottom, which uses a metru leg armor piece.) The rear half is detachable to allow the minifigure to get in and out.

Robots. I tried to give them a lot of unique personality.

Classic Space Bot.

This and the following picture didn't make it into the final story, but I like the effect of the skylights on the roof which you can see nicely here.

Explosion. This scene was pretty fragile; it also took up a lot of trans-clear pieces.

And an above view of the explosion.

Thanks for viewing!

Quoting Kai Bernstein Great build! I'd have to say the robots and speeders are my favorite part; the inside, while good, lacks some details and greebles that one might see in a lab.
Thanks! I agree on the inside, by that point I was starting to rush this since I had some other MOCs to build (plus I lack pieces like light grey grill bricks that would add more texture...)

I commented on this. I did. I really did. Why doesn't it show? I remember my exact words: Wow, absolutely remarkable! I honestly think you'll win the whole thing.

Quoting David . Awesome Job! I think they meant just the expolsion, not an awesome scene, then tear it apart and stage the explosion. ;)
Notice the word "going", not "that has gone". Anyway, I'd rather spend more time on something that I have more confidence in my ability to build :)

Nice! Detailed, yet clean. Very nice angles with the walls and intersting robots and hovercars!
