USS Enterprise NCC 1701 - TOS
...to boldly go where no brick has gone before...
About this creation
Here is my NCC 1701 USS Enterprise TOS Model - as many will attest to, eventhough the Enterprise is one of the most recognized ships in Sci Fi, it is a difficult one to capture accurately in Lego. And to those who have done this well in the past, you have inspired me to create my version, you know who you are. This model is a representation of the original Star Trek franchise and is Original Series inspired but has a larger engineering hull than to spec as I may upgrade to the larger engines from the original movies. Also the saucer is more detailed like the movie rather than the TV version and I made the dish trans blue instead of rust. Other noteables: I created the small travel pod / shuttle that can dock at multiple points on the model. Keep it tuned to my MOCpage for more exciting MOCs from all genres!

Yeah its me being an ignoramus I found it as soon as you said falcon I smacked my head. I never had the old falcon set I just have the new one but ive looked at that old one before... lol thanks for your patients.

not sure what the mystery is - the bottom of the saucer is the 4 saucer / falcon bottom pieces then 4 rounded 4 x 4 bricks then the stack of dishes upside down. Nothing fancy!
Quoting Jason Trickett Sorry, wasn't very clear about what I was asking. Its actually the pieces above the ones you mentioned. I have similar pieces, ie the saucer pieces that come with the Darth Vader Tie Fighter, but those are just one rounded slope not the geodesic style that's on your ship and Clayton's enterprise.

it's just a few different size radar dishes stacked up.
Quoting Jason Trickett So, I don't know why I haven't commented on this ship yet. I love the saucer idea, while there are similarities to the millennium falcon set, this takes it further. In fact, that is why I'm stealing it to do the saucer of the Enterprise D! Although, I'm finding the oval shape much more difficult to reproduce... Anyways, this is an awesome rendition of the old girl! Oh, and a question where did that spheroid piece under the saucer come from? I can't find it on bricklink.

unfortunately TLG doesn't work like that their designers have to work under the restraint of cost and part availability - due to this I have started my own small custom and design company - bwtmtbrickworks.com where I can build clients custom models, or they can purchase some of my custom creations for birthday parties or for themselves - glad you like my creations
Quoting Christopher Buehner Your work looks far, far better than any of the official sets released by the LEGO competitor brands... How long did this model take you to finish?! LEGO should buy your designs.

Quoting Topher Adams This is, as you said, not to spec for TOS. It really makes it unique. This is an awesome build. You did the saucer section very well. That is always one of, if not the, hardest part of any Federation star ship to build.

oh you must be a child of the new Trek - this is indeed a shuttle or travel pod (not a typical shuttle craft) as seen in Star Trek the Motion Picture - the original, not JJs version.

likely will be building some more small ones, yes! As for this scale, I am running out of room in my workshop with Metroplex on his way. Larger Models are taking up too much space and I cannot bear to recycle them. PS the support in the engines is external if you look closely.
Quoting Raymond Drum Nice job on this one. Yes, those saucer sections look hard considering the shape. I'm guessing there's a center support running through the warp naceles? It just looks like gravity should win. LOL Now, you built your smaller scale previously and I have a question: Are you planning on building more that scale and possibly including DS-9 to match?
