Zistiam
A powerful and mysterious being with a range of dangerous abilities, Zistiam, the Master of Fusion, is a force to be reckoned with.
About this creation

A member of Axonn's species, Zistiam possesses abilities including healing and immense strength.
However, after a confusingly meta experiment in which he fused the Spear of Fusion to himself, Zistiam gained fusion and fission powers. The red spikes on his back, which resemble the Spear of Fusion's blade, glow when these powers are activated.
Being combined with an inanimate object had drawbacks, however: it rendered Zistiam blind and mute, so he wears an Arthron, Mask of Sonar, in the shape of a single plate of armor.

Zistiam has a small cage or pod on his right arm within which he can store an item to use in fusion. Shown here is a vampiric squid from the Pit.

If he finds some blades or shards of metal on the battlefield, Zistiam can fuse them to his fingers as sharp claws.

Inika height comparison:

Proof that Zistiam is built on an Inika torso with simple upper arms and legs:

Part of my continued pseudoproject to build members of underrepresented official species. Check out Gavram, Calbus, and Dicalian if you're interested.

This MOC initially began when for some odd reason I decided to stick V2 Osmur's legs onto the torso of Valsom (Inikabuild tablescrap). I later ended up just using Osmur's lower legs, so when I post the revamp of Osmur on MOCpages, the legs might seem familiar. Anyway, the proportions reminded me of Axonn, so I decided to build a member of his species. At some point the color scheme changed from black/silver/orange to black/silver/brown/white/transred, which actually works better on the MOC than it does in concept. Tell me what you think, though.

Also my first serious MOC in a long time to use an Inika torso or simple upper arms and legs. I think it came out well regardless of simplicity.

Osmur
Charger
Ierro

Quoting Wertman 8 Nice stuff there! Not entirely sure about the translucent white and red Takanuva blades on his back, but the rest indeed looks awesome. Also I know the arms are a part of the fact that he's one of Axon's species, but I dunno, kinda look a little *too* long, even for those standards. Still, great work!
Thanks for the feedback, Wert. :)

Quoting Ahpolki Ihu What next, Krekka's species? Takadox's? XD Very nice build there. I never knew that there was an Inika torso there. O_O
I'm saving the Barraki's species for something big later on... but sure, you can expect some Steltians (of every caste) relatively soon, I guess. Thanks!

Quoting Clever Crowe So, as surprised as I am to say so (because I have seen ALOT to like from you this year), this tops my 2013 Chro list. Articulation: just Boss. Love the double-arm overhead that shows this off. I'm loving the piston-support for both legs, just seems to add to proper cladding and bulk without being too obvious. Seriously impressed. Cheers, Chro!~ 5/5!

Quoting L.A. Miranda I'M STILL ALIVE!! Though this may have killed me xD Axonn has been always my favourite titan set (along with the Bahrag and Titan Mata Nui), so I'm glad that new members of his species are added to the family! My favourite things of this massive build are: 1) the cage idea (so simple, so brilliant), 2) the amazing designs (chest, fists, ARMS!! <3), and 3) the fact that you keeped a lot of Axonn's details, like the simplicity of the arms, the giant hands, the feet design (similar in look but totally different) or the use of a Inika torso as it. I have to point, though, that Axonn had the lower legs and arms simple, not the upper arms... Though I don't know if was your intention to emulate the Axonn design or just wanted to use those parts for their original purpose =P Also, that's just an opinion, I think Zistiam has too many greebles (horns, fangs, blades, etc), being a bit overcharged in that sense. Anyways, I really like the MOC and it's design, and I love how it looks <3 Marvelous work, dear!
Thanks LA. I've missed your lengthy comments, haha. I wasn't intending to emulate Axonn's design, just his appearance to some extent. That's why Zistiam has simple upper arms and legs instead of simple forearms and forelegs like Axonn did. The excessive amount of detail pieces (greebles, spikes, etc.) was intentional too. :P

Quoting Coconut Fanatic First Look: OH MATA NUI ON HIGH. This is an amazing MOC! And it's all built around an Inika torso? That is an incredible feat. Just saying. There are places that are unattractive though, like those back legs. Those beams just sticking out that far... I don't know what to say. The head position isn't all that good looking either. But pretty much everything else is just splendiforous! Don't ask what that means. I mean all out epic. The color combo and parts usage is incredible.
I know that the backs of the legs don't look great, but with Zistiam's bulk, the pistons were necessary, unfortunately. By the design of the head, which was made to accommodate the KK armor faceplate, it was a bit difficult to attach the torso in such a way that allowed for much neck flexibility. But splendiferous? That's a new one. :P

Thanks Charles! :)
Quoting toa taile What an awesome hulking brute. Great proportions and colors, and great designs. The red blades on his back look amazing from the front but they feel like their just kinda tacked on from behind.
The tacked-on look is inevitable because of the arms- with their bulk, I had to make the spikes be farther back from the body, and therefore connected less effectively than I would've liked.

Quoting Toa Infernum I wouldn't have noticed it wasn't custom. :P. That torso... <3. Love the armoring! Not digging the technic piece in the middle of his palm though. So much win! Love the fusion concept! Also likin the whole "representation of the under represented" idea/project. Are the blades on his back prototypes? I got a few in a big BIONICLE lot I bought from someone on EB. Just wondering. Any way, he's awesome. :D
The Technic piece in the palm was put there so that he could hold weapons or tools, a function which worked perfectly well although I never ended up using it on the final form of the MOC. And Hazeroth is right, they're from ExoForce. :)
