A Toa of Plantlife on the path to becoming a Toa of Shadow.
About this creation

Name: Eltre
Species: Toa (currently presumed to be Turaga)
Race: Bo-Matoran
Location: Unknown
Alignment: Lawful Good -- Chaotic Evil
Allegiance: Toa Heistra -- Makuta
Occupation: Toa
Element: Plantlife -- Shadow
Powers: Control over plantlife, control over objects through touch, vine whips
Lived: C. 11000 BGC
Kanohi: Savari, mask of Proximity Control
Bio: Eltre was a Toa of Plantlife in a team called the Toa Heistra (hence the H emblems on his shoulders). His team was sent on a mission to protect a Matoran colony from an unknown threat. The threat, as it turned out, was a renegade Makuta and his entourage, who planned to turn all the Matoran into shadowy servants. The Toa managed to help most of the Matoran escape, but some died in the process. Eltre threw himself into the pathway of a shadow blast from the Makuta aimed towards three Matoran. He survived, but the shadow had infected him.
The injury had caused him to lose some of his control over Plantlife. So, in order to regain his crucial powers, he put on a Kanohi Savari, mask of Proximity Control. This mask was considered very dangerous, because its user could control any object he or she was touching--including the body of biomechanical beings. But Eltre argued that he was using the mask only to regain control of his natural abilities.

Armed with his newfound mask powers, Eltre began a quest to find someone or something that could restore him to normal. But he never found what he was looking for. He eventually realized that the shadow was beginning to take control of his mind. Sometimes, he would become enraged at the control of shadow, and attack anyone near him with a pair of vine whips -- or use his mask's full power, and disable a Toa's inner systems from the inside, and leave them paralyzed.
Eventually, after many of these incidents, Eltre -- for a brief period sane -- realized that he was far too powerful to be used as a weapon of evil. So, he decided to give what remained of his pure Toa Power to someone new. The one he chose was Mokatu.
It is now believed that Turaga Eltre lives a peaceful life, now free of the monster that he was.

Fourth Wall Comments: Well, this guy's been a while in the making. His origins date back to Phantom Terror's 50/50 contest. I knew I had four lime green tentacles from Mars Mission and four black tentacles from Atlantis, and wanted to make something with them. I was eliminated before I got a chance to do something with them, though. So, I tried to use them in a freebuild, with a character named Eltre. The character was 50/50, half green and half black. However, this was before I knew about customizing pieces, and it failed miserably.
So, fast forward a month or two. I still wanted to make Eltre. And then the opportunity came with Cevka's BIO-MOCer contest. The opening round was for any character without one of the normal six elements. Eltre, who I had conceived as half-plantlife and half-shadow, would fit. I had also decided, in order to not fail miserably, I would splatter green and black over the build, although there were still more concentrated areas on the left and right sides.
Per usual, the build was not quite what I thought I could make it. For one thing, the tentacles in my original design flowed out like spider legs over the body, where in this version they are stuck in various places. One thing to fix in a possible V2.

The front. You should by now be able to see the lighter and darker sides.

The right leg. You might have noticed from my previous MOCs/4WCs, but I rather quickly discovered the limits of my collection (especially in the ball-joints department), and like to make substitutes for ball-joints. This one, in particular, leg to the accidental development of a piston-leg design.

Hopefully you can see it better here.

Back of torso. Because of the aforementioned lack of balljoints, I used a TECHNIC axle as the spine for the waist joint. I also used a Visorak spine connected to that.

The arm, with some of the armor removed.

With his whips.

Facing down Jethryn.

With Jethryn, X, and Toa Solek. Coindicentally, my three most popular BIO-MOCs to date.

Comparison with a prototype titan.
Well, that's Eltre. Comments/Critiques/Ratings are appreciated.
P.S. He has a theme song, but I'm not sure if I can upload it here. You can find it Here.

UPDATE:

He got to the front page. Thank you all.

Quoting Thomas of Tortuga He looks very plantlike and menacing with all the vines! Also, you did a good job on the shoulder design. One thing I would add on photography is that the red backdrop really doesn't mesh well with the lime green. Next time, use natural lighting, or use a backdrop that better suits the colors. That'll make your figures stand out even better!
I just felt like white wouldn't work for him. I might could do a dark blue background in future. Thanks for the advice!

A Review, per your Request - I like the alternating-domino color pattern; asymmetry is challenging and often awesome, when MOCers bring that intent into their designs. I also like that sorta-redemption Storyline, there at the end. Cheers!~

i can't give a very good review on this because the lighting makes it so i can't see anything.

Nice idea with two colored body but construction is not that great. You should work on these visible technic pices (on back for example). 6 for you.

Very organic look. The skinniness actually makes it look even creepier in my opinion.

A 6, not bad but the shoulders are really wide.

Bit skinny and in some areas a bit skeletal. But that's probably because of low part numbers, right? I'll give you a 6. :)

Epic man! The aximetrical design on this guy is awesome. I also love the slender man appearance of him. Great job and good luck! :D
