Another entry for the MO, this one requires me to choose one of the above movies, and build a scene from it. I chose to build a scene from the air battle of Endor, specifically, I chose to build the view from the cockpit in the Millennium Falcon during the battle. For those who need to brush up on the scene, here is an excellent video of just the space battle.
This MOC presented a lot of challenges inherit in the engineering of the cockpit and composition for the picture. I got to use some fun techniques that have been on my workbench for a while, especially in getting the curvature both accurate and appealing. In addition, building the X-Wings, Tie Fighters, and Star Destroyers from scratch was difficult, but very fun. Sometimes we castle builders really need to branch out of our boring landscapes and get some more action in Sci-Fi. I had a lot of fun with this build, and I hope you all like it.
Good luck David! Thanks judges.
SOLI DEO GLORIA!
This is truely amazing, just as good as it was 2 months ago.
I think this is some sort of MOTD speed record to be honest.
Well done, and well deserved. i really like you made some of the ships smaller as to indicade their distance to the falcon. truely great job 17/5
That's an impressive job! The scaling allows you to give the creation depth without having to put an X-wing 8 feet away. I didn't recognize the SSD until seeing the panned out view. Nice way to fit that in on the corner.
Total awesomeness! Fantastic entry Blake! The different scalings of the ships is just too cool! The inside of the Falcon really tops this off as an awesome entry! The way you achieved the forced perspective is great. Awesome job getting the full "pause button" effect. Excellent work!
So Star Wars is always my ultimate sci-fi love, and this is possibly my favorite LEGO representation of the series. Everything is so accurate, and there is some nice brick-built features in there. I thought at first that some of the scene was borrowed from actual footage, until I took a closer look and doubled how impressed I was. So great, Blake. And from a faithful sci-fi builder, it's nice to see your unique talent applied to something more from my neck of the woods.
Blake, once again, you have astounded me. By far, one of the best forced perspective, and most interesting designs. Reminds me of Sean and Steph Mayo's Iron Builder entry "Fast and Furious", except with your own unique style. Well done, and congrats on advancing! I wish you the very best of luck.
Incrediable! Magnificat! Unbelievablea! Mind blowing ! Spectacular! I could go on and on . I love the instrument panel the attention to detail is incrediable . I love the tie fighter comming towards the window ! There is so much action going on . Excellent!
Beautiful skills there on a fantastically realized moc. Instantly recognizable as specific to Jedi. My only criticism is that I would have loved to see Lando and his creepy looking copilot. Still an excellent job and the FP is perfect. Good luck!
