Toa Tahu
Toa Tahu, the Spirit of Fire.
About this creation
So, I decided to revamp my revamp, so I can revamp while I revamp.

This is Tahu, as anyone with an ounce of brain likely gathered from the title.
I tried to get the torso and legs as accurate as possible, and to keep the colour correct.

Here's the full title image

And a slightly different version of the title image

Standing

Possibly the most famous Tahu pose

Original and revamped

Revamped with Golden Hau

Pose

With Tahnok

And a final pose.

6th Surface:
First up, I should apologize to Glorified Pessimist. This serves as my entry to the MOC-Off we were meant to have months ago. I don't know if we ever got a judge.

From a MOC perspective, this was fun to build. It was quite difficult working out how to overcome each challenge, and I'm very glad that I was able to without using any custom parts. There is always a purist way.

Anyhow, to all of the internet people out there, have fun, have a good day, sleep well, happy insert-holiday-here, goodbye

*A Note*
Brian Fiedler was, among others, a significant inspiration for this MOC, and should be credited for the elbow on the left arm, along with having had influence on a number of stylistic choices I made.

Quoting Evan Botkin Awesome! I like how he's very similar to the original but way more poseable. I also like that you gave him two different arms, not many people do that in their revamps even though the original models had them. Great work!
Thank you

Quoting Brian Fiedler While I understand that it's lego, I wouldn't mind you crediting people for some of the joint systems/proportioning you used. The torso setup, the hands on the torso, the arm setup, the cod piece, etc. I don't think it's a coincidence when it's uploaded right after my re-revamp. But anyway, great stuff. Proportioning could be a bit better in some areas, but it's overall very nice, and since it doesn't require piece modification, props to you mate.
Mr Fielder, I can quite understand your concern, and having looked again at your (excellent) revamp, I can see similarities that I had not realized previously. However, I also feel that my creation is sufficiently divergent from your MOC to warrant it being my own. Certainly seeing your posts fleetingly a number of times was part of what gave me inspiration to build this, but equally did Callan Lord of Fire's Toa Mata Revamp. However, due to similarities that I noted, I have amended the page to note that you were a chief source of inspiration. I did not copy your design, as I consider such action to be immature and inappropriate. Apologies.

Very nice. No back view though? I consider those to be important.

Perhaps not the BEST revamp of a Toa Mata I've seen, but this is still very good, better than I could hope to do, so, good job. :)

Quoting Glorified Pessimist Good job man! He is a very accurate to the original. Points for that. I won't be able to post mine for a while, I took the pics on my good camera, so they are good, but that camera lacks a charger thus, a way to transfer the pics from the camera to the computer. So, technically, by default, you win. I took a different route. I built a far larger, but different version using a gold and white color scheme. He was good, but nothing I haven't done before. Remember, the theme was create the embodiment of the hau, not a tahu revamp. Good job. You have more orange than I do. Keep up the good work!
Oh, that's right, it was! Maybe I'll build a different entry then... Take all the time you need getting those images, seeing how long it took me to even get around to this. I'm sorry for the huge delay, I've just had so much work to do!

Thanks. I've been thinking about that... Mmm. You'll have to wait and see what comes.

Quoting Wertman 8 Torso=Genius. Awesome work there dude, reminds me of the game version of Tahu (The shaping of the shins in particular) the only thing I don't agree with are his right forearm and thighs, and the massive holes in them (Next challenge: Tahu Nuva :P)
Tahu Nuva Challenge = Completed, just got to work out some last details. I know, I tried to fit something in the thighs to fill them up, but it impeded the movement of the knees. Likewise with the right forearm. Hmm, I'll have to give some though to those areas. Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you like torso
