About this creation
This is the collection of pictures I took the night before and the day of setting up my Storybook Display. This project began in October '12 and was set up in March '13, right before my school's Literature Day.

You can find the WIP posts here

This project lived all over my house for months, much to my wife's dismay. This night, I consolidated all the elements for packing. I knew I was making my wife happy.

Packin' it all my little car. It fit!

Here's the display case all put together. Come closer...

Closer...

Closer...Does this get any funnier with repetition? No.

Stop. The top layer is Jack and the Beanstalk and King Arthur's castle.

The second layer is a castle packed with princess stories.

The lowest layer is a dragon's cave. Honestly, I just wanted to build a dragon. I threw a knight in there so it could be "Sir George and the Dragon," but most of the kids thought it was Smaug.

The left side of the display. Under the beanstalk was the Three Little Pig's houses.

A huge book dominated the second level here. The forest had Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel.

The book gave the scene some context.

Peter Pan and the Seven Dwarfs cave (not pictured, to the right) filled the bottom left side of the display.

Here's an item of historical note, for me at least. I scribbled out several versions of the scene as I went along. This early version saw some of the areas flip-flop, and eventually I added a shelf as well.

That's it for now! I'm looking for inspiration for the next big project. I'm thinking about a Dr. Suess theme, so we'll see. I hope to upload my BSG Raptor at some point too!

Nice! Shoulda made the dragon Purple and called it Malificent. (From Sleeping Beauty) Anyhow, great work! Wish I could go to your school for a day just to look at that. :P

Magical! My favorites are the bean stalk, the gingerbread house, the coach, and Arthur's castle! What lucky students you have! Dr. Seuss would be sooo much fun! :)

Excellent! It's fun to see this finally completed and in a glass display case what's more (a nod to Snow White per chance? ;) ).
