Tremendous progress done here! The bridge has some very nice angles. The color stirpes also break the monotony of the grey, which is a nice addition. Can't wait to see it finished!

Yes, you were right. I agree, they do add color to it and stand out. I don't see why you can't keep them considering it's your creation besides, I'm pretty certain that some of them would have been earned during that time frame.

Quoting Raymond Drum The multi-colored parts are replicas of the ribbons earned by the ship and it's crew, which are worn by crew members on their dress uniforms that served on board when they were earned. That big 'E' I want to say is the Battle 'E', which is given annually to which ever ship in it's class has the highest combat readiness as proven through rigorous drill training and evaluation.
thanks for that,i had an idea they were some kind of honours,as this is the 1944/45 ww2 version,do you think i can still keep them on there,it adds a bit of colour to the grey, these ships have been altered and modernized that much its hard to tell what should be there,i have a lot of books on the class but no definite plans to work off.one line drawing of the ship, decks etc on a4 page size which is all i use for measure/scale,so any advice from someone like youself is gratefully accepted.

This is stunning. It's rare to see something so huge so finely detailed. I can fully understand using M***** for bulk, given what this is going to cost!

Comment must be in moderation - maybe because I said the 'M' word... anyhow, this is pure awesome and if it was all Lego would cost a bomb! Still worth it, though. Great work.

Quoting Luke V I see mega blocks everywhere, but I can understand using mega blocks because of money and it still looks very detailed and well made... GREAT JOB!!!
LEGO were it matters, details etc, standard bricks 2x4s 1x8s etc megabloks just cause of availability and of course cost.this is the reason i can build on a big scale and not have to dismantle them, the decking alone will be done in lego and is going to cost a small fortune, good to see most of you can see past clone bricks just seeing it for what it is,

Quoting Raymond Drum When I opened this up, words came out of my mouth that I can't type here. LOL I was amazed as I scrolled down. The unit commendations on the side are a nice touch but, the bridge lighting up is...wow! Is the interior of the bridge accessible though?
yes it is but you have to take some decking off thetop, inside is laid out as good as i can get giving pieces aslong as it looks ok through the windows, have a few more lights for the lower bridge once my exspensive windows arrive, originally went for trans black but with the lights decided on clear, its looking like its going to be 24ft long now as the main guns are slightly larger than originally planned,

Quoting Nate Flood With the lites in the bridge and with those windows - should we expect interior details? Please say yes....
the bridge has an interior, the citadel goes up through the bridge just like the real ship.but the only interior i will be doing is what you can see through the windows,

thanks for all your comments,a lot of you have been most helpful, nate with his lites, nick with his bricklink site, raymond drum whose idea it was originally. etc, seeing everyones work on here and using their techniques to come up with this so far.looking like it will be 24ft when finished due to the slightly oversize main turrets,

Quoting Tommy S. Looks great so far and how much does it roughly cost to build one of these ships?
rough guess to build in lego around 10k pounds,in megabloks which i buy cheaply less than half of that, but there is still a lot of lego in it aswell.

Quoting Michael K. Just spectacular. I've never seen someone include whatever the things are in the 2nd picture.
battle honours i think, thats the best i can do unless i go for transfers, keeping it lego type blocks as much as possible,
