LOM: Tracks of the Black Lotus 1: The Yeti
This is the first of a three-, maybe four-moc storyline told from qinon's perspective. So keep an eye out for tracks of the black lotus two, three, and possibly four!
About this creation
I was freezing. We had been trecking through the snowy landscape of the high regions of Bodus for several hours, hunting a Yeti. We had, in fact, been hiking for several days, but only those few hours ago we had found a trail.

According to Shcrazcss, Yetis were normally about two men high, but they could grow up three men high if they were strong and knew how to impress the female Yeti. We were on the track of one such large Yeti, as the footprints through the two-day-old snow told me.

We gathered about the last footprint, after which the track seemed to stop.
"Why would a track stop like that?" Natilus asked.
"Well" I said, glad to be able to show off my tracking skills. "Let's take a look at the landscape. The only things of significance here are a rock, a tree, and a frozen pond wait a minute. The pond is not frozen! And it looks deeper than the average pond. The yeti could have stepped in it!"

Just as I made this realization, something roared behind us. It was the Yeti! However, it was not just three men high, as I had expected. It was about double of my estimated size! I guessed that a Yeti this tall had never been sighted before. Otherwise Shcrazcss would know about it. He knew everything.
"Wow. That is one big angry Yeti." Taur growled.
"Let's go!" Shcrazcss called.

Shcrazcss, having given the commando, acted first, reaching into his pouch and bringing out a fine black dust, which he sprinkled in the air.

The Yeti sniffed it. Once. Twice. Then it's eye turned white and glazed, and it froze in place, of if it moved, only very slowly.

I reacted next.

Three arrows embedded themselves in the Yeti's shoulder, midriff, and hip. The Yeti was visibly angered, but the powder had overpowered it: It was moving very slowly, and had no chance of getting any of us.

Natilus jumped up and rammed his staff into the Yeti's foot.

Taur hurled his axe at the Yeti. It struck the Yeti's arm and stuck there.

Then, realizing that I was the only one with a weapon still in hand, I hurled my dagger and hit the Yeti straight in the heart. Perhaps a little too early …

Slowly, the yeti tipped forward.

Natilus, amazed by my throw, had stopped, and only now realized what was happening. He sped away, trying to get out of the danger zone …

But too late. With a crash, the Yeti collapsed on top of Natilus, burying him under itself.

For a terrifying minute, we all held our breaths.

Then a Hand reached out from under the Yeti: Natilus had saved himself into the pond just before the yeti crushed him!

Natilus had saved himself into the pond just before the yeti could cruch him! I let out a cry of happiness. My cry came at the same tie as Shcrazcss's and Taur's.

Happily, we all went to retrieve our weapons.

My dagger, however, was buried under the yeti. Only after several minutes of heaving were we able to retrieve it. The three arrows were broken beyond repair.

Relieved that we had survived and happy that we had slain the largest Yeti in all of Mythron, we set off back the way we had come. Yet we were also inattentive, and did not notice we were walking the wrong way … I was too exhausted from heaving away at the Yeti to notice.

A picture of the Diorama:

First of all, sorry for the grey background. The build was too big for the white one that I always use, so I decided just to use the carpet instead.

Also sorry for not including a picture of the yeti by itself. Oh well.

I hope you liked my version of a Yeti! I have not built with Bionicle for so long it feels almost alien to me now. That, plus the fact that I don't have than many white technic pieces made the build that much more challenging. I also expitimented a bit more with landscaping.

Don't forget to keep an eye out for the other two, or maybe three builds in the Tracks of the black Lotus storyline! (This was kind of the Intro, just in case you were wondering why this had anything to do with the Black Lotus.)

Hope you liked it!

Quoting George Marshall The landscape looks great, but the main picture may be preventing more people from looking at this creation. If you want to get more comments and attention to a MOC, remember that the main pic is crucial to drawing attention to your creation. Try an artsy picture, or something like that. Try looking at really popular MOCs for inspiration for a picture. Anyways, great job!
I'll try to make the main picture more artsy next time. Thanks for the advice!

Quoting Freeling . Not bad, but it looks more like a toa than a yeti.
That was on purpose at least the head thing. I wanted the Yeti to differ from what people expedt of a Yeti Though it does look an awful lot like a Toa. :P
