In this, my greatest MOC challenge, I will utilize work from the masters, modern artists and stained glass windows along side my LEGO versions of the LIFE OF JESUS. I have gone steps beyond my JESUS MOCpage (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/359468) and have illustrated 100 Scenes in the LIFE OF JESUS! It was so much fun to look for the illustrations and to do the MOC vignettes (some have found a permanent home in my collection and others like THE LAST SUPPER were done just for this MOC). There have been many LEGO builders that picked up on this theme and BRENDAN POWELL SMITH has a Two Volume set on the BIBLE: Called "THE BRICK BIBLE". Volume One is The Old Testament and the second one is the New Testament (in that one he has Acts & Paul's Letters as well as Revelations). I purchased the books to be sure my versions didn't match his! For that reason you will NOT see the PARABLES of JESUS here (I may do them separately one day.) If you have seen his work, I hope you will enjoy mine as my version uses several different elements than his! I did all my minifigures with FLESH HEADS and each wears a costume befitting the New Testament times! (His have costumes using modern day mixed with old time outfits.) I am dedicating this work to my friend of 49 years: DAVID ABBATE. We went to the High School of Art & Design together and met the first day of class: September 8, 1964. We almost shared the same BIRTHDAY, his was July 25th and mine is July 26th! He was the head of the Graphics Department at CBS EVENING NEWS! He died of CANCER! So because he loved my work in LEGO and supported my efforts what a better TRIBUTE then the LIFE OF JESUS! I used my art training as a COSTUME DESIGNER in developing this MOC. I exchanged outfits, heads, beards, wigs and capes to make the population of this MOC seem more than it is as well as slight changes in my buildings as well as showing them from their back views to utilize as backdrops! I hope you like my approach to THE LIFE OF JESUS and enjoy the accompanying comparative art work! I am considering posting all the pictures I took - to chose from - in a "behind the scenes" MOCpage! I am also considering doing each character individually in another MOCpage! I hope this MOC INSPIRES YOU!

Thank You! I felt after doing so many superheroes and villains I needed to do something to balance that so this was a natural way. Have you seen my religious leaders? http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/368872

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 I comment as just to give you something back for that huge amount of work, it s ...massive! it must be the whole bible here! it would have been better not to repeat the title, and lego over, and over, and over again, instead just keep the original image and the lego one in comparison, that might have allowed you to make them bigger to appreciate your scenes, I must say that these light scenes fit your style perfectly though, and compare well with the originals, although I m Christian, I don t feel it s right to impose a particular religion on others, I prefer to state 'the creator' as to unite all in one unified peaceful union, no one is right or wrong, as all are based on compassion, love, and understanding, that is the essence of the message, well done Nick!
I like uniformity so each scene needed a unified look, much like baseball cards or superhero trading cards have - only the player or hero is changed but the format is the same! I wanted each to be POSTER-Like so if anyone wanted to copy the photo and enlarge it to hang in their room they could! Although I am CATHOLIC I did each scene from a universal approach, I never used religious overtones they had NO PLACE in this MOC. I just told the story as it unfolded in the NEW TESTAMENT! Hence when I captioned each I used the simplest form! About the mixture read my comment to Caleb! I am glad you enjoyed it FRANK! It took over 5 months to complete! It had many do overs it was tedious but fun! It also gave me a way to meditate and a strange but true experience happened as I was photographing the Resurrection of Jesus I got the phone call my friend DAVID died! Karma!

Quoting Caleb R The pictures are a bit jumbled with text and pictures within them, but good job!
My rational, as a retired teacher and Christian, was to COMBINE my love of art and art history and introduce some of my fellow MOCpagers to the world of art history combined with the LIFE OF JESUS as professional artists viewed it. It seemed to be a natural outcome, we as MOCpagers use LEGO as our medium to express how we see life then translate it into a LEGO format! So to just show the LEGO version how could I show my inspiration? How looking at a picture, painting, photograph can inspire you? And without text how could those who have never read the Bible have known what scene I chose to illustrate in LEGO? I wanted this to be "user friendly"!

Quoting A. Sargent I can see the effort put into this. This is beautiful work, Mr. Pascale. I like to see you put effort like this into praising the Lord. God bless you, Nick!
The LORD has been Praised - just by sharing His Life's Story with my fellow MOCpagers and perhaps if it finds it way to the internet - the people on the world wide web! May Our Lord Jesus Christ look after you and yours!
