The age of Aquarius: A MOColympics entry by Deus "Big D." Otiosus. Category: Aquarius.
About this creation
So I have some good news and some bad news. Good news is that the MOColympics still exist in 2125.

Bad news is that during the 117th annual MOColympics, Earth enters into the astrological age of Aquarius. Does not sound so bad? Well... Apocalypse.

Built for the 2013 MOColympics.
Brickshelf failed. Bad photos today.

I have been inspired by a movie or something to do something apocalyptic involving aquarius. Wanted to do a poem but that idea was short-lived. So now with MOColympics I had an excuse to do something finally.

I did not really hide cats today, just made a different easter egg hunt. You have to find out what the easter eggs are and find them all. When you know what they are, you will know how many there are. They have the same theme and are relevant to the MOC.

There is a lot of symbolysm going on here, really. Like the burning european flag or me in there and exploded couch and T.V. ...

I would shorten the presentation, but this time it is not possible. I am happy I did not upload this earlier though. If I had relied on Brickshelf here, there could be problems if it did not intend to come back up any time soon.

I'm bringing this back from the dead because I have seen something in it that I like and I could really use your help. It's basically the whole black-on-black story. How do I set up my photography arrangement if I want to take pictures of a predominantly black MOC? And do you recall any photo settings you used with your camera, and would they be easy to replicate on a digital camera (that's all I really have)? I would truly appreciate any help you can give me. Apart from everything I asked here, what an incredible MOC! The symbolism is screaming out, and it's an incredible concept.

Quoting Nick Pascale Deus, you have been kind enough to like my SANTA'S NORTH POLE VILLAGE and twice you left just one word; RESPECT? What do you mean by it? Remember I am from a different time. I am hoping it means the same as sick does in my day it was a negative comment but in todays world it is a compliment! So are you saying you RESPECT my work or I should have RESPECT (and for who or what)?
Ho ho ho! Yes, I said respect, and it is both. There was no way to know, really. It was a greeting me and my friends used and I use it on occasions where I like a MOC, but have no time and want to do more than just klick four smiley heads, so the recepient would actually know I was there. Since I am such a fan of advent callendars, your project some time meets requirements for that.

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 unfortunately, I had no need for many of the parts in these kits...sorry! I ll dress you differently, and, if I can find the kit you describe, I ll just buy it for you, just get a pic of it, and I ll re-dress you then, hopefully it s still on shelves, and not the biggest.
Nah, it was just a moment thing. Just make me fleshie with regular face and some dark tan hair if you have it, otherwise regular tan hair. Maye some grey scifi style torso or a nice suit.

The dude is clever and versatile and the amphora and snakes are very well done. I've not checked out the video yet but I hope it gives a little more insight into the build as it's a bit of a mystery - but that is a good thing and will tempt me back to look over details. Nice smoke and flame effects too. Great job and good luck to you.

This is really a very elegant build, despite initially looking unrefined. The diorama itself is well designed and composed, though I find it a bit too monochrome and simple in areas. The snakes, grenade, and "dude" are anything but though. I'm very impressed by the sculpt on the grenade, and the black dude is quite excellent. Great mix of aesthetics and flexibility.

ohhhh, I really like the night pic with lighting! the fires and crashed windows look fab, the scene with the guy watching tv in a trashed room is eerie, the 'dude' would make a fine arena mech! should I reproduce your old story fig, or would you like a fresh new look for the serie? if so, please take a pic of it so it s easy for reproduction. lovely piece Deus!

Quoting Mark McPeek Classic you... ;) Brilliant work though. The best entry building wise. Best of luck in round 2! WHAT??? You didn't hide the cat?!?!? ;)
If you miss my easter egg hunts, as I have said in the description - it is super-hard and super-fun this time. P.S.: By "build-wise" you mean the photography is not on my best?

Unique interpretation and the snakes pouring out of the jar are a work of art. One of the very best builds so far - this'll be at or near the top for R1, I hope.

Nice; lots of brick and plate work here. The burning European flag is a bit, unsettling? but I suppose it also could've been an American flag (that woulda been downright blasphemous) but still though, a solid build.

This is great! I particularly like the snakes coming out of the jar, they're very well designed. I don't think I've ever managed to make something simultaneously flexible and and cool-looking, but you pulled it off perfectly. Those fires you made are my favorite part though, they really look real, and the smoke is great.

Quoting Magma ! Very nice, very nice. My favorite part is the so called "dude" But I also like red water and the creepy feel on this dio. Maybe next time try putting a little more effort into the presentation. I know big MOCs are hard to photograph, but those clothes are annoying! Good luck.
