VW SP2
About this creation
Here it is, my Brazilian classic. It first had to be a Porsche 901 for the 50 years of it, but then I thought it was too "flagrant". And so, after some days of hard work, I come up with this
1) A bit history:
The VW (do Brazil) SP2 was a car developed and produced in Brazil (SP stands for Sao Paolo). With it unique design and well-loved VW base (beetle chassis, or more precisely VW 1600 chassis), VW produced between 1972 and 1976 over 10000 units.

2) My Lego creation:
As you can see through my creation gallery, I love peculiar cars (914, Bond Bug). This one is one of my favorite cars ever, I think one of the most unknown too, and I was very impatient to post it here, after some days of (hard 8-P) work on it.

> The body: not a lot to say here; I focalized more on the exterior as on the interior. The front was very very difficult to do, the bake idem. I find that the side end line is the same as the Porsches 911 one (NB: the line was used on another Porsche: the 924)

> The technics: I will sum up rapidly the features the car has, because most of them are presented here:
.working engine (2 cylinder boxer)
.working gearbox (4 speeds, with a new "gearchangesystem" + working gear lever)
.working clutch (can be engage or disengage with help of the left pedal)
.working brakes (sort of drum brakes, a pair at the back only, are usual with help of the middle pedal)
.working steering (+ working steering wheel)
. Can be open: chest, doors

So if you liked my new creation and peculiar cars, please rate and comment it; I will be very glad to read your appreciations. ;-)

I never even knew about this car! The real thing - as well as your lego model of it - looks awesome. Great incorporation of the technic underside, too.

Bodywork and functions are excellent, only the wheels are a little small. The rest is cool, great job! :-))

Sweet ride you got there! Really like the looks, you've made it look a lot like the original. THe interior is nice too, the mechanisms are a great addition. If the shaft drives are a problem, they cost about 40 cents apiece on bricklink.com (and I'm pretty sure they ship to France). Anyways, awesome job!

1st: thank you everybody for you comments
Quoting Daniel Wareing I like this a lot ! Technically brilliant - the only fault I can possibly find is the lack of a differential gear in the rear axle, but that is presumably down to lack of space and / or parts ??? Nonetheless, very ambitious to include brakes and clutch, especially as the car isn't as big as a lot of the other "super cars" on this website. To factor in the bodywork, interior etc the way you have here takes skill. How about incorporating suspension in your next car?
The problem is I've got no parts for making a differential, and adding suspension makes everything a lot more difficult ( the BIG problem is that I haven't lego shaft drives so I have to use some cogwheels for the transmission which are simply horrible) But I will think on it and may be try another go with another car( and i know already which one...) :-)

the nice point is that you've adeed lot's of details with a nice funtion sheet. Congratulations! Also, I'm brazilian and i already entered in one of these cars. You could try to make the Miura Sport 1975, the best brazilian car ever :D
