RO R2: Abraham Tested
This is my entry to the Reading Olympics Round 2. The category I chose was The Bible. This is a little vignette depicting Genesis 22. I encourage you to read it, it's a really great chapter on trusting God. Enjoy!

Biblical Story

The pictures are coincided with Genesis 22:9-14.

9 When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns.

He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.

14 So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

Photos of the Build!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Side view.

View of the altar, this came out well.

The rocky place where the ram was caught.

A rocky walkway.

The top place where the ram was caught by its horns.

Speaking of which.... Here's the ram! I think this came out great considering its size.

The figures. Angel, Abraham, Isaac... and the ram! I love that little guy!

Another view of the vignette.

Another view of the walkway.

Another view of the top shelf of rock.

Thanks for looking! God Bless!

Get away ram! Run faster! Or you'll be beaten by an old man! Hehe.

BTW: That first photo (the title photo) was really difficult, because the sun at that point was straight up in the sky. I had to hold my creation at like a 75 degree angle... almost perpendicular to the ground! It was hard to see the photo too! But after like 5 photos (yeah, I'm REALLY thankful it only took about 5) I got the right one.
