M.O. Round 1 - The Temple of Gemini
My entry to Round 1 of the 2013 MocOlympics. "The 12 Signs of the Zodiac." You know... Leo, Scorpio, Gemini and so on. Choose any ONE of the 12 Zodiac signs and build a moc incoorporating that ONE sign into it. (in case you haven't noticed, you're only allowed to choose ONE of the twelve signs). No size limits.
About this creation

I pause before the steps. The entrance to the Temple of Gemini stands before me, but something feels wrong. No, everything feels wrong. The stream gurgles behind me, flowing down from the eastern side of the gully. That can't be right. When I crossed, the stream was flowing from the west. ... Or was it? No, it was moving east. But it was also moving west.

...What
is this place?

Here's a link to the MocOlympics Homepage.

This is my entry for Round 1 of the 2013 MocOlympics. Monday morning, when I first saw the category, I settled fairly quickly on Gemini. Briefly considered what to build, I decided to try something symmetrical, with the symbol dividing the two sides. A man-made room that's symmetrical isn't all that interesting, though, so I decided to try to build something that looked sufficiently natural on either side, hopefully making the scene as a whole all the more striking.

I built this in an hour or on Monday, and added a couple finishing touches right before taking the photos.

Bird's eye view. I'm pretty happy with how this came out, personally.

Here's the Gemini symbol, which forms the entrance into the Temple. I considered making it stand out a little more, but decided against it.

The minifig. I added this guy almost as an afterthought, but I think he adds a lot to the scene.

Thanks for loooking! If you've got time, a like or a comment would be most appreciated!

Quoting Lego Builders Nice idea. I do think it would be much better with more time spent in it, though. -LB Jr.
Thanks. Yeah, looking back, I probably could have waited until toward the end of Round 1 to finish it up and improved it a great deal in that time.

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Clever take on the category. I think the rockwork's a bit to chunky and the stream lacks much curvature, but the foliage is very well placed. Nice work.
Thanks for the thoughtful, helpful critique, I really appreciate it! =)

Quoting George Marshall Really symmetric, but sometimes that can be a good thing! Good job, and good luck in the contest! ;)
Thanks! =) Symmetry is the main theme for this build. I decided to use symmetry as an allusion to the Twins, Gemini.
