Foiroc and Glacon
The beginning of something beautiful.
About this creation
Let’s start with Foiroc:

(BIO)
Name: Foiroc
Gender: Male
Species: Reinforced Biomechanical Ent-ity, Toa
Mask: Kakama
Weapons: Mechanized arm-blade, Wrist mounted blades
Armour status: Light
Titles: Gladebane, Brother, Toa, Friend, Foiroc, Gentleman of the Forest
Powers: Control over living plant matter, supersonic sprint
Status: Alive and Assembled

When Foiroc was young, he never related to his friends. Upon reaching adulthood, alone and with no connection to his family, he left his home village, retreating into the great forest to live as a hermit. There he became a great philosopher, discovering how to interpret and understand the trees, soon befriending them – for they too were living.

Something about their steadfast and unwavering strength was alluring to his now estranged mind.

With little food available, and only the trees for comfort, Foiroc grew weaker and weaker.

He was subjected to great anguish in the forest, including attacks from a great Shakr, or Wolfking, who took a malevolent delight in torturing the Matoran. Time and time again, it was the trees that saved him, providing hiding places and small spaces where the Wolfking could not reach.

One day though, the Shakr caught him by surprise – literally tearing the already frail Foiroc to pieces. But the trees struck back, their friend was mortally wounded – they would not stand idly by.

18 of the great timbers fell, crushing the Shakr like so little dust, but as they drew life from him, they poured energy into the crumpled form of Foiroc.

Many moons later, the collapsed trees had formed a thick wooden cocoon about Foiroc, slowly feeding him the energy he needed.

As the year’s first snow touched the ground, there was a reverberating crack in the forest, magnified by the echoes of the stout trees. As the great cocoon split, Foiroc emerged – greater and stronger than before.

He had become one with the forest, able to feel the flow of its life force and thus, command it.

Tall, lithe, quick and with the strength of a century-oak, he ventured out of the forest. The Shakr was not the only wolfking in the realm – and they would be put down.

It was on this journey that he met Glacon.

He is known for his kindness to strangers, always willing to help.

Having gone from being a hermit to being a toa, it was necessary that he reacquaint himself with "sociality", sometimes he over compensates.

But what his enemies mistake for weakness, his compassion and friendship are his strongest defense against the evil he fights to destroy.

============================================================================================

(BIO)
Name: Glacon
Gender: Male
Species: Reinforced Biomechanical Lifeform, Toa
Mask: Akaku Nuva
Weapons: Ice shards
Armour status: Heavy
Titles: Heartstone, Brother, Toa, Friend, Glacon, Bane of the Shakr
Powers: Ice control, limited heat vision, X-ray vision, Glacial roar
Status: Alive and Assembled

Glacon was also a matoran once. Unlike Foiroc though, he was not a victim of circumstance. Trained as the apprentice of a champion wrestler, he was given the best instruction there was and one day he was brought before a great Turaga and transformed into Glacon the great Toa of Iceform and Glaciers.

For a Toa of ice, he was remarkably hotheaded. Never conceding defeat and always quick to start a fight, he was proud and arrogant. This served him in good stead to defend his village – but this would also be his downfall.

Believing that he alone could defend the area, he refused to allow the Turaga to create a second Toa to aid him. Just days later, a mega-rahi, what the matoran of the village called a Ixshakr, Ice-wolf-king, descended from its mountainside home.

Glacon tried to stop it, but he was simply not strong enough. The entire village and everyone in it was destroyed by it’s wrath, and when the ice wolf was done, buried beneath 1000 feet of solid ice. The only survivor was Glacon, whose strength and abilities had spared him the majority of the damage.

Leaving the scattered remains of a buried village, Glacon went into the great forest, broken and utterly defeated.

It was there that he too learned to fear the Shakr, he had failed to defeat them before, but he would not do so again. A ghost, he moved from territory to territory – destroying the Shakr he found there.

Executing with extreme prejudice he was hunting the Ixshakr when he met Foiroc.

Together they hunted the Ixshakr. Eventually finding it and after a battle that rent the earth, destroying huge amounts of the surrounding countryside, they killed it.

It was then that they met Fortrux. The disturbance in space was noticeable from his ability to sense the world. Noticing their shared drive to make justice and to eradicate evil, in addition to their formidable skills as warriors, he made them an offer.

To join a team – specializing in protecting the universe, but more specifically protecting it from what came out of the void.

Since meeting Foiroc, he has become far more humble.

He doesn't have any weapons.

He uses his fists, and his armour as a shield.

He thinks he's pretty tough. Let's face it though - he's got it right.

Glacon: You see this? My heartlight?

Glacon: Wanna see what's beneath?

Glacon: I have a real heart too! :D

A comparison between them. Contrast is important.

============================================================================================

Xurtrof: Hey guys!
Foiroc and Glacon: Hey! Whatsup?

Xurtrof: Fortrux says we have a mission to get on - it's recruiting!
Foiroc: Well we best be off!

Xutrof: Hey you lot, have you seen a lime green Ruru anywhere? We're looking for our boss!

All: Bye!

Xutrof: I don't even know why I'm with these guys, I only have telekinesis.

Fourth Wall: So, this is it - the beginning of Project: Housewarming - got a new home, need some new friends. I hope you like them - they started as brothers, and then their color schemes diverged. To explain Foiroc's legs - I'd been wanting to try something like that, so he's the friendly gentleman of the forest, with puffy gentleman trousers :) Glacon is a bit of a brute, but he's got to be my favourite MOC ever! Xutrof is a bit of a tablescrap - but you might recognize him, the colour scheme is true, and he'll be... upgraded soon ;) Super pleased :) Hope you guys like too!

Glacon is a great build, you really kept a consistant aesthetic with the armor. Some cool techniques there. But Foiroc is definately my favorite. Very unique Toa. Brown and dark green? Yes please! The very lean look is excellent and lends a lot of character to him. The silver could the smoother- some very basic, cohesive silver arms would probably look best. Maybe silver or light bley axle or pin extendors? But I really do love the contrast between the silver and the earthy colors. To many times a diverse color scheme looks messy, but you did it right.

Quoting Wertman 8 Awesome dude! I like the look of Foiroc, especially the use of earthy colours and such.[...] (also, I noticed that Xurtrof is a copy from the original design for Fortrux :D)
Thanks man! I obviously need to practice my lower legs :s But I agree that Foiroc's need work - just don't have the parts! Gah! But yeah, that is the original design for Fortrux ;) *sneakylaugh*

Awesome dude! I like the look of Foiroc, especially the use of earthy colours and such. I only have two complaints about him... the silver kind of breaks off the organic feel to him... and I understand the need to make him skinny, and I know the shins were an experiment, but they feel a bit too thin, as if they don't have any muscle or skin on them... but I apreciate that "Skinny" look you tried to pull off... Glacon is cool too, I like the sheer bulk of him... I would work on his legs, in smoothing them out a little, but still a great job! (also, I noticed that Xurtrof is a copy from the original design for Fortrux :D)

Quoting Gilbert Despathens Since you claim to enjoy constructive criticism, I can do a run-down: Foiroc has a unique style. [..] but I only do this on MOCs that truly catch my eye for some reason. Thanks for listening to my rambles, and keep building! - Gilbert DS
Wow! I don't think I've ever had such an extensive and well written comment! Thanks a bunch :) I'm glad you like them!

Since you claim to enjoy constructive criticism, I can do a run-down: --- Foiroc has a unique style. The lanky form complements the tree motif as well as his past as a starving hermit, and most of the colors serve to give him an Ent-like appearance rather than the garish green that seems to be associated with plant toa. My favorite parts are the brown wheels on his back; they give him a look that combines nature with steam punk. Unfortunately, the grey and silver parts kind of murder the pattern. He would be well-served by the removal of these pieces (possibly replacing them with system) and perhaps some sleeker modifications to the limbs. --- Glacon looks like a great brawler - the way his HF shoulder pads match with those on his upper arms is a great detail. He also looks tough and quite fleshed out on most of his body. There are no complaints with the color scheme - blue and white match well, although I'm not sure the background brings them out very well. Weapons, although cliché, would also help to bring out his physicality in my opinion. His heart is a cool-if-gory detail, and I might as well take the opportunity to say that you have a well-developed style in the projecting sternums of your figures. My two complaints on Glacon concern the lack of armor on the sides of his torso (he could use a little bulk there) and the lower legs, which don't flow that well for me (but I have an abnormal obsession with smoothness, so salt my words well). --- Finally, your stories are excellent by the MOCpages standard. Foiroc's would be a decent read even without the MOC, and Glacon's, although it feels less detailed, sets his character down as one not unlike that of the mythical Charles de Batz-Castlemore d'Artagnan, Gascon hero of The Three Musketeers. --- Overall, excellent work - it certainly has me interested. Sorry for talking so much, in case you're thinking that I'm a bit weird, but I only do this on MOCs that truly catch my eye for some reason. Thanks for listening to my rambles, and keep building! --- Sincerely, Gilbert DS

Foiroc's left arm is great, I love how it looks. How you used the Ogrum mask was pretty good, as well as how you made it look like he was covered in folliage. Glacon's color scheme is wonderful, as well as his upper torso.

Quoting Alien Entity Both of these guys look really cool, Glacon especially; his armor is not too sparse or too bulky. Also, "Ent-ity". I see what you did there :3
Thanks dude! I was so hoping that someone would spot that :) Have a cookie ;)

Quoting [ Chro ] A nice pair of builds. They complement each other quite well. [...] so it's understandable, just something you need to work on, and trying new unique things (Foiroc's stiltlegs, etc.) can help with that. :)
Thanks Chro! :) you're right, they are a bit odd - but I think that they look kinda cool overall, maybe in future they'll get an upgrade, bit of a part shortage at the moment :P

A nice pair of builds. They complement each other quite well. Foiroc is great, although the legs are quite strange (backstory or not). Glacon is cool too, very nice from the waist up, but the shaping of the legs (specifically lower) throws me off. I know you've said before that you tend to have trouble with legs, so it's understandable, just something you need to work on, and trying new unique things (Foiroc's stiltlegs, etc.) can help with that. :)
