EVA Unit 00 (Rebuild of Evangelion)
from the ground breaking anime...
About this creation

Inspired by Ryan Wilhelm's Eva Unit 01 which reminded me to get my design for my Evangelions MOCs out of moth balls and into bricks. This model is the first of what I hope will be many from the ground-breaking Anime.

This Model is about the same size of my other mechs but obviously more slender. It is super articulated incorporating many small ratchet type and ball joints. I am very pleased with the final product as I changed very little but the leg sculpting and chest armour from my original LDD concepts (last pic below). It is free standing but I will likely make some sort of stand so it can get into some crazy poses from the anime.

the slender look is the general look for Evangelions - as they are technically giant humanoid / souls augmented by armour. I had some challenges with the thinner limbs but I am pleases with the end result.
Quoting Tim C My apologies that I haven't commented on anything of yours in a while, Chris. The SHIPtember contest kept me away from the pages for a while. This is excellent. I love the posablility and the proportional quality is top notch. I like the minimalist approach on this one, making him less bulky. Well done.

I guess your not a fan of this gal
Quoting Benjamin Lewis Probably should have gone with that blue one in LDD. The build on that one (and the colors) look much better.

the more twisted thing is the Eva Unit 00 like the others is powered by a female Soul usually the soul of the pilots dead mother. Japanese Anime you gotta love it.
Quoting Chris Phipson Quick question... how do you post this and then NOT expect me to make a comment about the codpiece? ~Chris.

that's Japanese anime for you! depending on what model or toy you use as reference some are more well endowed than others.
Quoting JS Can Really nice build, but still conflicted about the 'morning wood'.

Awesome! I never watched evangelion. I heard it doesn't have a proper ending, so I couldn't be bothered. nevertheless, I appreciate this build. You know what you should watch (since it seems you're probably into anime)? Google 'Suisei No Gargantia', or click this link (http://www.goodanime.net/category/suisei-no-gargantia). It only has basically two mecha in it, but you'll really like it. And the MOCing potential is great!

a little more articulation then my usual mechs but the lankiness causes its own challenges

Nicely done. I should really try building one of mine sometime, but i doubt it'd come out like this. To be honest, appearance wise, I've always preferred unit 00. ^Blub^

This one may technically be female - In the anime it is hinted on a few occasions that the EVA's engines / core / reactors are the souls of the dead mothers of the pilots! But since this pilot was a clone it gets complicated. Got to love Japanese anime!
Quoting El Barto ! Killer fig, Dude! I really like the proportions on this one. And very versatile. A slightly modified female version might be interesting...

the legs of the subject material are similar long and lanky!
Quoting Beardless Dwarf Nice job! The poseablity is just awesome. The legs seem a bit too skinny in comparison to the height but it's easy to over look considering how well everything else turned out. Keep up the good work!
