Reviewing set #44010 LIKE A BAWSS! (Heh, get it? Because he's the boss... heh, heh, get it? Aw, suit yourselves.) Stormer is a 69 piece Hero set of medium size.
About this creation
So let's take a look at this guy, then.

For parts, we have a regular torso piece, accompanied by two black regular lower limb pieces, and a pair of grey slightly longer lower limb pieces.
We also have two grey regular upper limb pieces, along with two black long lower limb pieces.
This set also includes a single socket connector piece, along with two white hands, and two white feet.
We get a new colour of skull piece; a really dark translucent blue... I personally like this colour a lot, hope to see a lot more of this colour in future!

For armour, lets get the boring stuff out of the way; a silver Brain Attack chest plate, two white size 3 armour pieces and two size 5 armour pieces, also in white.
We also get Stormer's new Mask, which I'll talk about a little later.
The thing that sticks out the most in this picture are these three size 4 armour pieces in translucent bright blue. A nice colour, I don't think it sticks out as much as the other translucent colours in the HF line, but it'll be cool to stock up on them. The only thing that sucks is that we only get three! Won't make a difference to people who play with the toy or put it on display, but to MOCcers, that's a pain in the bum!

We get three large "teeth" pieces, and two ice/fur armour attachments. Both are really nice pieces, but unfortunately they don't stick on very well, and fall off easily.
This set gives us a silver blade piece, only released before in Furno XL. We also have a gunmetal grey shield/wing piece, which is accompanied by a recoloured version of the Furno XL/Pyrox flame piece; this time to suit an icy theme. It looks pretty cool, I really like this mold. Hopefully they'll continue to release it in many different colours. This set includes a silver multi-tool ice shield.
We get Stormer's new vizor in translucent light blue, with an exclusive print.
This set includes a few technic pieces, as usual, of which includes the sword hilt piece, the 90 degree axel with a pinhole in the middle, four white exo-force arms, and, of course, a Hero Core.

Let's see what this looks like assembled:

Hrrm... got mixed feelings on this one. I really like the general themes portrayed in this guy, but I see a lot of "Mehs" on this one.

The first "Meh" is how bare this guy is... I understand that as the strong leader of the Alpha team, it was important to give him wide shoulders, yet this only works if they are actually covered. Either reshaping the texture pieces on his arms or just adding armour pieces to the balljoints in his shoulders would solve this problem.

It isn't just on the shoulders where the bareness is. I apreciate how the designers tried to cover the back on him, a common found problem in HF sets which has been solved here, but the backpack sits a little far back for it to make much of a difference from any angle rather than the direct back of him. But hey, maybe that's me. The back-pack is good in itself. I'm not a fan of flick-fire missiles in general, despite the fact that I approved the ones used on Surge. They don't fire as well as some of the older projectiles of the action figure lines (although nothing will ever be as bad as the Cordak Blasters and Squid Launchers of 2007) and they are over-used in almost every lego line to the extent that they are forced into a set where it doesn't even make sense to have them (Look at some of the new Star Wars sets, particularly Jabba's Sale Barge and the Spider Droid set, to see what I mean) But the actual way they are attached make for a nice look. They can move up and down, but don't really fold up, which is a shame. But I still appreciate what they are trying to do.

The legs are decent for a typical HF set, but the thighs are also very bare. The fact that the armour is on the side exposes a lot of the bone, and the fact that it is translucent only complaments the lack of coverage.

This "Shield" is quite nice though. The Ice piece and the shield/wing piece really fit well together, and make for a really nice look. My only critizism is akin to the one I made of the shield piece in the Surge set, so I'll just copy and paste that bit. Lazy, but hey, who's gonna argue? :P
"One big gripe with the pieces themselves are the colour. Furno XL, Surge and Stormer all have more plain silver than gunmetal grey, so why are the pieces in gunmetal grey? If it was in silver, the only set it wouldn't work in is Jet Rocka, but I don't see why it needs to be right on one set but wrong on three, instead of the other way round. But heck, this is me nit-picking and being cynical :P"

The sword is cool. It's simple, yes, but makes for a really nice look. But as I said before, the "tooth" pieces fall off A LOT! But still, I'm happy with it.

Right, so all we have left to discuss is the head. I like the print on the vizor, but from a MOCcist's perspective, I would have rather have got a plain one. I think that mine had a tiny missprint, because it's slightly higher than I think it should be, meaning the eyes don't line up with the gap in the printing very well. But I see the same "Missprint" on the package, yet the eyes line up on the package... Hrrrrrmmmm... very odd indeed, sir...

The helmet without the vizor is quite cool, though. They kept the same look of the original mold, but everything has been slightly distorted to make sure the vizor fits. I got the impression from pictures that the eyes would be a bit too narrow, but they look fine in proportion, so I'm cool with that.

I tried to upload this four freaking times!! But now it's done. I'm going to rate this set in three different catogories; Toy value (how good it is to play with and pose ect.), Design Value (The design, including the colour scheme and how it was built) and Moccist Value (The amount of good pieces).
Here are Stormer's results;

Toy Value: 3/5 (Average, nothing really to scream about, but decent.)

Design Value: 1/5 (I'm sorry, the ideas were good, but the execution wasn't. Maybe I'm being harsh, but this set kinda dissapointed me)

Moccist Value: 4/5 (We do get a lot of cool new parts with this guy.)

Overall Value: 8/15

Well, that's all folks!

Quoting Stormjay Rider Hey, when's next review?

Quoting Legobob 29 This guy's actually my favourite, I like the character a lot. I also liked the parts so much I bought two of this guy! XD Anyway enough bragging- a very good review sir! Personally I think you've underrated the character a little, but I might just think that because I like it so much. Looking forward to the next review my friend!
I respect that opinion, and to be honest, I feel that I underrated him a little bit, but I can't really go back and change it now (that would be unprofesional)... but still... thanks :D

Quoting Ben Cossy Great review man :D Shadowgear told me his Stormer had the same misprint thing on the visor, might be an all round stuff up :S Anyway really want this set for parts, but I really don't want it for the flick-fire missiles :P Probably get it anyway :P
Yeah, I'm sure that is a universal mess up... to the point where I'm starting to expect it was deliberate... But yeah, he's still worth the buy if you're a MOCcist, which you are :P

Quoting SEDRIC (The Editor) He comes with some nice pieces. But he looks a bit skinny if his arms aren't pulled in front of his body I think. Also I wish that his print on the visor would be a bit lower, it seems a bit high to me.
Yeah, That is true, which isn't too good considering that Stormer's meant to be the buff one, besides Bulk :P I'm sure that vizor thing is a missprint, too.

Quoting Reaper the Ultimate . This is another great review Wert. I'm going to try, really I am, to not get into big long discussion. But i will say this: Your comment about flick-fire missiles is very valid. Lego seems to think that people actually use them, and that they actually work (although you are quite correct, nothing will ever be as bad as the squid launchers). I recall with fondness the old, chunky, spring based cannons that fired a huge rubber tipped projectile. They were good cannons. Now Lego seeks to make everything a flick-fire. And they make the actually barrels of the guns into flick-fire missiles! Oh how it irritates me. Anyway, I said I wasn't going to go an a rant so here I shall stop. Great review, as always, probably won't be buying this set.
Yeah, It is annoying... but those old cannons were cool. Lego still use them in sets, fortunately :D The only thing is that they fired really easily, and that missile hit with a lot of force... I remember being hit with those a lot... owch :P But you're not wrong.
