Chimera
Behold the mighty Chimera!

Chimera
After losing their last hero through the portal the Hero Factory sends another to retrieve the first.

Chimera
Like the last he too is unprepared and the rip he left in space fused several creatures together to create the Chimera.

Chimera
Confused and disoriented it attacks the first thing in sight; Moalikiís village.

Chimera
After taking out the guard Moaliki is called in to deal with the threat.

Chimera
He grabs his trident and heads to battle.

Chimera
The two meet just outside the village.

Chimera
The chimera crouches

Chimera
Itís dragon head roars
Chimera
And itís snake heads hiss.

Chimera
The beast leaps forward but Moaliki is unprepared.

Chimera
He hits the ground with a thud.

Chimera
The lion prepares to finish him off, but Moaliki isnít done yet.

Chimera
He hurls the creature off and both climb to their feet.

Chimera
Once again they stare each other down.

Chimera
This time the Chimera swings itís body to attack with itís dragon head and snake tail.

Chimera
Moaliki is ready. He dodges the dragon head and quicklyÖ

Fourth Wall

Well hello again! Hope you enjoyed the moc. Iím happy with how this turned out but disappointed because it could have been so much more.
I had order pieces to make beautiful wings but unfortunately the parts didnít arrive in time. It was a risk that I knew I was taking but one I was willing to take. To be honest I think if I hadnít told you, you wouldnít think it was incomplete but maybe youíre super smart. Overall I like how the part that I did complete turned out. The tan bits where a real challenge as there arenít many parts in that color but it turned out well. I have to say the lion head is my favourite part. I will post updated pictures when the parts for the wings do arrive and I look forward to seeing the completed model. Again remember to check back on the 3rd of September when I will post my new version of Toa Phosphorus!
Thanks for looking!

Traditional interpretations can often work in one's favour as they tend to be the more familiar imagery that most are used to. Might been more interesting to see other animals used though. Despite that minor creative nitpick, the various detailing techniques, coupled with the more natural, earthy tones bring it all together. 5/5, you have my vote.

Nicely done. As does Yri, I would've liked if you went with a blend of different creatures, rather than the actual mythological ones. But, being what it is, its veyr well done. Nice shaping and colors go well (I actually would've liked to see even more color, tbh). The way that tail flows is just great, but it could use a bit more polishment on the back legs, as with the goat head. The lion one is a little messy as well, on the nose and eyes, but other than those, not much to complain about. My vote is yours.

It was rather unexpected for both entries to take this path. As such the comparison becomes a lot more direct than it could've been if the category had been embraced to a whole new level. While Margdyr displays unique features with the utilisation of HF pieces and asymmetry, it doesn't go as far as "The Chimera" did, which displays a higher, more complex and organic feeling level of details. As such my vote belongs to Toa Phosphorus.

Quoting Clever Crowe I was very, very pleased to see the amount of assembly technique you used to close the surface greebling on the limbs, the mane-frilling, the dorsal and tail transitions, etc: this as a finished work is marvelous - under the context of anything BUT a Chimera, the riot of colors would've been unjustifiably garish; here, they serve. Excellent shaping and details, - you have my R5 Semifinals Vote. Nice job, and good luck. Cheers!~
Thanks

Quoting Yuri Fassio When I wrote this category, I kept in mind that most of your collections were growing thin, so with this it would be possible to use different colors for different areas of the bodies, depending on which and how many beasts you decided to fuse together. What I couldn't imagine, is that both of you would take a shot at building "the" chimera(or something at thay effect) instead of "a" chimera, so the match ended up being a bit boring. Phosphorous' entry, though, i's a bionicle masterpiece with hardly any weak point, so my vote goes to him. Well done, and best of luck!
Sorry to disappoint you. I tried the fish chimera and it just wasn't happening sorry bout that. Thanks for your vote!

Quoting Gringat the Repugnant Did the original chimera have a dragon head? Anyways, this creature is simply amazing. The proportions are good, bulky, menacing. I love the mane most of all. I'm having a bit of trouble seeing the lion's face though. Just seems like a jumble of parts to me.
No the original chimera did not have a dragon head although today in most appearances it does have the dragon head and wings included. I understand about the lion head. I guess one just has to look the right way at it but it can be a bit confusing.

THIS IS AMAZING. I've always dreamed of making a fully accurate Chimera... but I never had the resources or creativity. This is more than just a MOC, it's ART 8D

Awesome again... looking forward to Phos V7. (Also, Dark Crusader posting his entry in the R4 thread, so I'm assuming you can do the same. Yes, I'm a stalker.)
