In the corridor, Biosnake was now fighting both Nightblaze and Falcon at once. Shock’s viroblade in his human hand, he dueled Falcon and using his hook he slashed at clawed at Nightblaze.
As he slashed out with his claw, Falcon spotted a chance.
“ARGHHHH!” Biosnake cried out in his robotic drawl. Falcon’s viroblade was protruding from his mechanical eye.
The Captain slashed with his hook to get them both away from him, the sword still stuck in his eye. He gripped the blade with his claw and squeezed, just as he had with Nightblaze’s and snapped the viroblade. The majority clattered to the floor but the last hand’s-worth remained protruding from his eye, the bulb in which had gone out.
Snarling Biosnake advanced on the two men, Falcon re-drawing his blasters, now being without his sword.
Iadsgb groaned and shook his head to try and rid himself of the pain and the blood in his eyes. Blinking repeatedly he looked up at Jelli who stood looking down on them and then looked to his right, at Blast, tied next to him, who seemed mildly amused as well as confused at the unexpected turn of events.
"You!" he glared at Jelli and scrunched up his face, blinking away another drop of blood that had trickled from the cut on his forehead into his left eye. "How DARE you?" he questioned.
"You're a monster Iadsgb. Blast is twice the man you'll ever be." Jelli told him and Blast remained silent, composing himself, still recovering from his beating.
"I knew it was risky putting you on the team. You failed in your job in the first place, I'm not even sure why I let you stay." Iadsgb continued.
"Jelli." R.K. spoke her name so softly it made her jump, in her worried state. She looked down on him and he raised his eyes to meet hers.
"Please. Untie me. You can re-join us and we can end the war, here and now. I promise no harm will come to you." He spoke softly, calm and collected in contrast to Iadsgb's anger and force.
"But I am your commander, you listen to me!" Iadsgb demanded and Jelli returned her gaze to him. "I am your commander," he repeated, "and I command you let me go. Do as I say and you'll live out this war. You'll witness the end and as you know, I'm a man of my word." Iadsgb had calmed slightly now and was speaking in a more reasonable tone, although still obviously furious.
Jelli didn't know what to do. Her old master and hero or her current commander who she knew could cause her more pain than anyone. She bit her lip and turned her back on them both, unable to look at them any longer. Leaning over the rails and looking blankly down at the crew controls she thought everything through. All of the possibilities, every option she still had, everything that she could possibly do.
"Jelli." It was Iadsgb who had spoken and his voice chilled her. She refrained from turning around but he continued anyway. She knew what was coming.
"You know what I can do. What I will do. All you have to do is untie me and I'll let you both live." he spoke the words with a calm that was frightening, and finally, Blast understood.
"Falcon!" he said aloud as everything fell into place in his mind. "You forced her betrayal on Falcon's life?" he queried and looked to Iadsgb who turned to him with a smirk.
"You always get there in the end don't you, Blast. Just never in time. Always that one crucial step behind."
The pair both looked at Jelli in front of them, who had turned around.
"I'm so sorry Blast." she audibly whispered with a quiet sob as she walked over, key in hand, crouched between them and unlocked Iadsgb's binders.
"Jelli, don't trust him!" Blast pleaded. "He's lying!"
She stood slowly and stepped back a couple of paces until her back was pressed to the railings.
The F.I.S. leader pushed himself up and Blast hung his head. The war was lost. The Federation had won.
Iadsgb mopped his bleeding forehead with his gloved hand and then rubbed his wrists and shrugged his shoulders, clicking his neck from side to side.
Jelli, who also had her head hung, looked up at him as he approached, tears in her eyes.
"Ahh." Iadsgb sighed. "That’s much better. Thank you."
His fist swung and the uppercut caught her under her helmet.
Her feet left the ground and the electro-key tumbled from her grasp as she flipped over the railing backwards and fell.
"JELLI!" R.K. cried out, looking up at the sound of the punch.
Jelli crashed on her back into a bank of computer screens, smashing through the desk and electrical equipment, which exploded around her. The electrics sparked and thousands of volts coursed through her body as she lay among the fires.
The now familiar, although still purely evil, robotic laugh of Captain Biosnake rattled around the corridor in which the other leaders were still dueling and were all unaware of the events taking place above them on the bridge. He knocked Falcon aside with a powerful swing of Shock's viroblade,
then grabbed something from a pouch on his belt - one of the sticky grenades he'd thrown at Rogue and Iadsgb after he'd massacred the Twi'lek.
He held it in his hand and primed it, cackling as he looked up, preparing to throw it.
But then out of nowhere, a flying kick from Nightblaze hit the underside of his hand and flipped the grenade backwards and stuck it straight to the madman's face.
"NOO!" Frantically he grabbed at it, trying to yank it from his face but only succeeding in getting his hand stuck to it.
"GET BACK!" Nightblaze bellowed and flapped his hands around as he dived away from the walking time bomb.
Biosnake's screech grew in pitch until it was too high for them to hear and at that point, the grenade exploded, taking the mass-murdering scientist with it.
"NO!" Blast drew the word out, watching on in horror. Iadsgb stood looking down over the rails but Blast couldn't see what was happening to Jelli below. He saw the initial ball of fire as it billowed towards the roof and suspected the worst.
Fixer stirred and came around. He shook his head and slowly stood up. He looked between Blast and Iadsgb, wondering what had happened and walked over to the latter.
But as he did so, the toe of his boot clipped the key and sent it spinning across the floor, coming to a stop as it bumped against Blast's leg.
The RC didn't notice and joined Iadsgb looking down at the sparking wreckage below.
"Oh!" he exclaimed quietly.
Spotting his chance and now even more eager to beat Iadsgb, while both members of the F.I.S.'s back's were turned, he shifted around, using his leg to knock the electro-key further backwards towards his tied hands. He had to be careful though because if he nudged the key to hard, it would shoot past him and tumble to the lower deck and all would be lost.
Slowly he edged to key closer to his outstretched fingers until his fingertips could brush against it.
Iadsgb and Fixer were talking in low tones so that R.K. couldn't hear but he didn't mind, it gave him more time to try and escape.
With one final little nudge, he had the key in his hand and began working it into the lock on his binders. At this point however, Iadsgb looked back at him, his expression stony while Fixer mumbled something to him and Blast had to keep still, pretending that nothing was amiss so as not to rouse their suspicions.
Iadsgb sighed and turned his back again, giving Blast the chance to continue working his lock undone. After a few moments more, with a satisfying clunk, he felt his wrists come free. He held the binders and gently placed them on the ground behind his back so as not to make any noise and to appear still cuffed.
The two men of the F.I.S. now turned back to face him and Blast made his move. Using the force for help, he sprung upwards, taking them totally by surprise and slammed his fist into Iadsgb's face, knocking him back against the rails and Fixer stumbled away.
