About this creation
The room was silent, but for the waves lapping against the poles supporting the warehouse. Nobody moved at all; half out of curiosity, half out of fear. All eyes were fixed on Longfellow, standing behind something that nobody could describe at the time. The air was rippling, as if it wasn’t air at all. It was quite similar to dropping a tiny pebble into a large pond, creating just enough waves to distort the image at the bottom. However this rippling did not stop as it would have in a pond. It simply kept going, as if people were throwing a constant supply of infinite pebbles into it. One of the reasons nobody could describe it was because they were focusing on Longfellow in the centre. After 42 seconds, Artorius finally decided to speak.
“Just who the hell are you, dropping in from mid-air like that? Are you some kind of alien? Are you here to probe us or something? You’d better start talking, otherwise I’ll kick you’re a-EEIIII!”
Art suddenly stopped, realising that a knife had just been stabbed into the ground a metre in front of him. Art’s facial expression was rather embarrassing, and so was the way he shrieked. Nobody noticed this, though, because they were rather scared themselves. Longfellow was rather annoyed, for some reason. It wasn’t because of what Artorius had said; it was something else entirely. At that moment, a few men dressed in brown uniform came running from behind him. They had the same symbol as Longfellow on their shoulder pads, but unlike him their faces were not covered. They each carried rifles that were a cross between modern day and old style. Longfellow spoke to the Michael and his friends, who were still taken aback in awe.
“Gentlemen, my name is Longfellow Jones. I am leader of the Blood Brotherhood, an organisation from a parallel universe bent on taking down the government. You may call us evil, but that’s not how we see ourselves. There is no reason for me telling you the information just spoken, but this next part is very important. If you try to leave this warehouse, then my men will not only kill you, but also all the others in your group. Also, I am well aware of your communication abilities on your supposed ‘I-pones’. Try to contact anybody and we will treat you the same as I have mentioned before. Now, I’ll be back to decide your fate. Prey that I let you live…”
Jones turned around, his cape flapping behind him. He stormed off to the portal, obviously angered by something. The group of random individuals and soldiers he left behind, however, would never know what.

On the other side of the portal was an almost identical version of the ramshackle warehouse. There were a few differences, however. These included the colour of the building. In ‘our world’, it had been a dark, silvery blue. However in this universe, it was a chocolaty brown. Also, there were symbols of the Blood Brotherhood painted everywhere because they had been using the area to conduct experiments for months. It was also not ramshackle at all. Time had been a lot more forgiving in this universe, because there was no paint loss or holes in the walls and ceilings. Longfellow stormed over to his top scientist, who went by the name of Quinton Smith. Quinton was a rather psychotic man, always talking at a million miles an hour. He often laughed when there was no reason to, and he was always standing hunchbacked on a chair fiddling with some sort of device. He was a genius, which is why Longfellow had allowed him to live and serve, but he was still very mysterious. At times he appeared to be slightly traitorous, but nobody took notice because he’d often make things turn out for the better of Blood Brotherhood. Longfellow was not trusting him today, however, for reasons unclear to anyone at the time. He grabbed Quinton by the neck and threw him on the floor. Quinton remained there for a few seconds, before standing up slowly and giving a little smirk. Longfellow was enraged.
“I THOUGHT YOU SAID THE OTHER WAREHOUSE WAS ABANDONDED!”
“Hee hee! I guess fate had a part to play. Nobody knows where the wind will blow. It swings one way before-“
“Don’t start your free-verse poems now. You said you’d monitored this location for months, and had proved that no one would set foot in there.”
“Oh, but I did. I checked, double checked, triple checked, quadruple checked, pen tuple checked, and many times more. It isn’t my doing this time.”
“This time?”
“Oh, you know me. I always do like to play a trick or two.”
“And this?”
“Not me. It is merely a coincidence. Maybe, master, they could be used as new recruits.”
“I highly doubt it.”
“You never know. You don’t even know them…”
“I do know one. His name is Michael Stark. He works for the prime minister.”
“All the more reason to-“
“No. We must avoid all contact with anyone close to the prime minister. We don’t want anyone to know about ‘the deal’, otherwise information could leak. It’ll be just like last time, and I don’t want that.”
“Well, if you don’t want them to join, then why keep them alive?”
“Although taking a human life is unnecessary, it may be our only choice.”
“Why don’t you let the others join? Entice them with riches, everyone falls for that.”
“Maybe, but not Stark. He cannot ruin any of our plans, so he will have to be disposed of.”
Longfellow stepped back to the portal, but stopped before entering. He turned around to his remaining soldiers.
“If you hear the alarm sound, it means things have not gone so well. If that happens, kill them all.”

While Longfellow was discussing what to do with his captives, the group was huddling in a corner. The three soldiers that had decided to stay behind were standing guard by the portal, carefully watching what the others were doing. There was probably no need for this, as they weren’t doing anything of importance. Sam was explaining what do in a situation like the one they were in.
“Okay guys, as a policeman I know what to do. This guy’s probably a religious nutter, so we shouldn’t listen to anything he says.”
Cutter, however, was a little bit sceptical.
“A nutter? HJe practically appeared from nowhere. You saw the table float into the air, and I’m pretty sure I saw it.”
“Notice how those guns are releasing a little bit of steam? It could be gas. We may have been drugged.”
“Drugged? There’s no way we’ve been drugged. And I’d know, because-“
“You probably shouldn’t say things like that, because after this is over I may have to take you in.”
“What? NO! It’s not like that! It was a bunch of terrorists on the coast who used gas to try and stop us. Even though I was hallucinating, I still got them.”
“And?”
“And because of that experience, I know what it’s like. We couldn’t possibly have been drugged.”
“Well, alright. I believe you. But still, I don’t think we should trust this Longfellow guy. He’ll probably stand trial and get at least ten years in prison.”
It was then that Tim Backclaw spoke.
“Now I know I don’t know much since I’m only a housecleaner, but you’re forgetting something. If we lock him away, won’t he just disappear like he did earlier? And what about that knife? It just appeared from nowhere. How many of them does he have. Also, one more thing…”
He turned to Stark with a worried look on his face.
“When he looked at you, he had almost a look of disgust- no, that’s not it. Anyway, that’s not the point. He seemed to recognise you. I could tell by his eyes. Now, you’re someone close to the prime minister, right? Maybe he wants to get close to him…”
The others were staring at him. Stark looked to everyone’s faces. When he spoke, he was quite angry.
“That has got to be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Shut up and-“.
His conversation was interrupted by the re-entry of Longfellow Jones.

Longfellow circled around the broken table. He looked at foods he’d never seen before. Although food was basically the same in both universes, the packaging was different. Also, fast food didn’t exist. He’d never seen a cheeseburger before, so he was quite curious. He bent down and picked it up. It was then that he noticed a plastic bottle filled with the disgusting sauce that someone’s grandmother had made. Longfellow stood up with the bottle in his hand, moving his other one up to his metallic plate over his mouth. He opened it like a letterbox flap, from the top down. He didn’t open it very much, however. It was only open enough for him to stick his finger down, and nobody could see what was beneath the mask. Longfellow opened the bottle and stuck his finger inside. He then proceeded to let the sauce on his finger run down the mouthpiece, so that it led to the mouth. He closed the mask and made a sly smile beneath it. He then handed the bottle to one of his soldiers.
“Take this bottle back to the secret lab. I want it analysed, so that we can make more of it.”
The soldier saluted and ran off to the other side of the portal. Longfellow turned to the rather surprised group of individuals standing before him.
“This sauce is rather nice. I just sent off one of my fellow comrades to see what it’s made of. But enough about sauces and stuff. I’m here to offer you a deal. Our group, as I have said before, is called Blood Brotherhood. In our society we are seen as evil. However that is not our intention. We only wish to bring our own order to both our world and yours. I do not wish to merge our worlds, but I do wish to create society where both worlds can coexist. However, this comes at a price. Many people will have to die for this. There are those in the everyday world who will slow us down. They will have to be eliminated. Join me and I can promise you not only riches, but also a greater society. However, if you join me there will be a price.”
Longfellow walked around, looking at each of the faces of the people. He stopped at Stark, looking at him through his dark green eyes.
“Your name is Michael Stark, is it not?”
“Yes, it is. How did you-“
“We’ve been monitoring this world’s government systems, and we’ve seen you quite a lot. You’re quite close to the prime minister, however you don’t trust him. Ever wonder what he’s doing behind those closed doors? What he’s doing will effect our conquest greatly, and people who’ve been close to him will hinder our mission.”
“Sorry?”
“If the others join, you will have to die.”
Everyone was shocked. Michael Onncod looked around him, and the reaction was clear. He stepped forward.
“I think I speak on behalf of all of my friends here. You seem like a man of his word, but your intentions aren’t pure. Also, a human life is not something that can be thrown around. You’re a sick person if you think that money and power are more important than people. Also, this stuff about an equal society? Have you even seen Legend Of Korra? Maybe you haven’t, but you seem like a real life version of its antagonist.”
“So I’m presuming that’s a no.”
“Yes, it is indeed a no.”
Longfellow pulled a small rectangular device out of his pocket. It had a bright red button on it. Longfellow turned his head to one side ever so slightly.
“Are you one hundred per cent sure?”
“Indeed I am.”
Longfellow pressed the button. An incredibly loud and annoying sound came out of it. Longfellow and his soldiers stood completely still, however Michael and his friends were crawling on the ground covering their ears in pain. The sound lasted for thirty seconds, and then it stopped. Those who had been screaming on the floor barely stood up, recovering from the ear-splitting noise. Without warning, soldiers started running in from the portal. About fifty entered from it, and within minutes the group was surrounded. Longfellow was still in front of the group, and he was shaking his head.
“Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance to stay alive. You could’ve been rich, you could’ve been happy with just one death of a friend. I don’t like killing people either, but sometimes it’s a necessity. Like now, for example. Since you don’t want to join me, I’m going to have to make sure you stay silent. Nothing shuts people up like death, as I’ve found. I won’t bother saying goodbye, since you’ll probably forget me in the afterlife anyway. TAKE AIM!”
The soldiers moved up all their rifles in unison, and Michael Onncod closed his eyes in fear.

Some people believe in fate, and some do not. That being said, it must have been fate that at that moment something incredible happened. It’s not the nature of what happened, but the exact second that it did. Merely a few moments after Longfellow had ordered their execution, A massive person in a suit of armour came launching out. It was a mecha, only not as big as most that one would see in the steampunk universe. It was about the size of a small car only standing up in a humanoid form. The mecha was painted completely back, and it has a large red cape trailing behind it. The cape was made of small metallic pieces linked together, and it had a skull on it. It’s arms and legs were very thick, and it’s singular eye that seemed a lot like a Zaku Gundam glared through a red visor. The head, although it had no purpose other than to look awesome, had a hood the same colour as the visor and the cape. At that time, he wasn’t carrying any weapons, however his hands had long spiked fingers that could easily stab anything, and anyone. On his chest lay bright yellow text that said ‘Reaper Mk. II’. The singular eye surveyed the surprised faces of the soldiers for a few seconds. After realising that the circumstances were well within his capabilities, the pilot of the mecha (who just happened to be John Arcan) began his attack. With his first swipe, he had knocked over six soldiers, and with the next he had knocked over another four. Longfellow was enraged at this point.
“DON’T JUST STAND THERE! SHOOT THAT IDIOT, OR I’LL HAVE YOUR HEADS ON A STAKE OUTSIDE OUR BASE.”
He really meant what he had said. Longfellow had done so a few times in the past. Even if he didn’t really mean it now, the men understood what he was trying to say. They began frantically firing at the large hunk of metal. The reaper (or more accurately John piloting it) turned his back to the fire, causing the bullets to be deflected by his metal cape. Onncod, at this time, was quite confused. He realised that this mecha wasn’t on the side of Blood Brotherhood, but he couldn’t tell if he could trust it or not. At the time, he merely assumed it was a robot of some kind. At that moment, Moda came running through the portal, guns-a-blazing. He had both of his two energy pistols this time, and was taking out soldiers like a child destroying bubble wrap. He reached Michael and spoke with slight worry in his voice.
“You guys didn’t agree to Longfellow’s deal, did you?”
“Heck no! The guy’s crazy! He wanted to kill Stark over here.”
Michael gestured behind him. Moda looked, and his expression changed. He quickly shook Michael’s hand.
“The name’s James Milecard Soda, but since there’s another person who goes by the name of ‘James’ in our society, I’m usually just called Moda.”
“Moda?”
“Yeah, Moda. You got a problem with that? Nicknames are a bit different in our universe. Speaking of which, we’d like you to come with us.”
“Where?”
“To our universe!”
“But why?”
“I’ll explain later…”
Moda turned to face the others.
“PORTAL! NOW!”
Michael and the others then went scrambling along behind Moda, quite confused.

When everybody arrived, they were quite surprised. At first, they noticed the air was different. Even though the world mainly relied on steam power, and the town where they had come from generally had clean air, this world’s air was like that from hundreds of years ago. The second thing they noticed was how different the warehouse looked compared to the one back in their world. Of course, all of the details here have been explained. The third thing they noticed was a rather annoyed James Wallace and Gale Arcan moving a whole bunch of dead bodies and dumping them in the water, but they quickly turned their attention back to Moda. Moda turned around and began talking to them.
“Now, I know you have a lot of questions. I am going to say a lot right now, and if you still want to know anything I’ll tell you later. Time is currently of the essence, so I need to explain everything as quickly as possible. We have about twenty minutes max before the portal closes. Shall I begin?”
Everyone nodded their heads.
“Right, let’s begin. You are currently in a parallel universe. We do things a little differently here, so you may find our way of life a bit odd. In the industrial revolution, we discovered a way to make steam power easily and effectively. The steam, however, mostly contains the natural things that you find in air anyway. This means that although we haven’t advanced as much as you guys have, we have a better environment. However, this isn’t exactly a utopia. A society bent on collapsing the government, which has already introduced themselves to you, has been attacking a lot more recently. A leak has recently revealed to my comrade, James Wallace, that Blood Brotherhood has developed a way to travel between universes. Thankfully they can only travel in a straight line, so they only arrive at the place they left from. However, this is still a problem. Blood Brotherhood now has the ability to take over both worlds. There is a catch, however. Travel between worlds can only occur once in the same place, and only once every few days in total. However, there is a problem that you will need to help us with. We’ve recently found a few of the contacts of Longfellow, and one of them…”
He turned to Stark.
“…goes by the name of Noj Drawoh.”
Stark was shocked. He looked at his fellow companions. He then turned back to Moda.
“But Noj is our prime minister!”
“Sure is. Doesn’t that sound interesting? Now, you’re very close with Noj.”
“I’m his assistaint.”
“Yes, so we could use your abilities.”
“Wait, how do I know you’re not just like Blood Brotherhood?”
“You don’t. This is why you should travel back to your world and figure out the truth by yourself. We won’t be going with you, but if all goes to plan we’ll meet you in a week or so. You’ll know when the time is right.”
Stark looked around him. He waited for a second, and then made up his mind.
“Guys, I’ll see you on the other side.”
“Maybe not, Stark. I have a proposition for them as well.”
Stark shook his head and ran past the returned Reaper and into the portal. Michael Onncod turned to Moda. He remained calm, even though he was worried he might never see his friend again.
“It’s been about only a couple of minutes since we started talking, so we’ve got time. Tell me about this ‘proposition’.”
“Ah, yes. The way you stood up to Blood Brotherhood is a rare quality. This quality lies in all of you. Also, you each have a set of skills. We’ve looked at your files that Quinton, um, ‘acquired’ on you guys.”
“Acquired?”
“Quinton is the main scientist for Blood Brotherhood. He’s kinda crazy, and a bit of a pervert at times. It’s not odd to see these kind of stuff in his files. Anyway, I’ve seen that you’re all eager to get a change of life. We need people like you. Join us and fight against the Brotherhood. What do you say? Will you-“
“THAT’S QUITE ENOUGH!”
The voice came from behind them. A small group of policemen (although the people from ‘our world’ couldn’t tell) were walking up to them. In the front was a middle aged man in white clothes. He walked up to Moda and sighed.
“Moda, are you really trying to get these people onto your side? Spruiking isn’t really a virtuous activity.”
“I’m not spruiking, old friend. I’m merely trying to even out the teams.”
“Well, don’t just say that they HAVE to join.”
“I’m not. They can leave if they want to.”
Moda turned back to Michael and his friends.
“This is Ervan Silph. He’ the chief of police. We always meet up after one of us finished a battle. But anyway, do you want to help or not?”
Michael looked towards the others. He turned back to Moda with a twinkle in his eyes.
“Well, you’ve convinced me, but what about you guys?”
Everybody gave each other blank looks, not able to decide whether to stay in the parallel universe or help Stark on his mission to expose the prime minister…

THIS MESSAGE APPLIES TO EVERYONE PARTICIPATING IN THE CYOA
Well guys, chapter two is done! A few things are gonna take place in the next chapter. This means there are two things you need to decide. The first thing (which applies to those who haven't already done so) is to choose a weapon. The next chapter is gonna be a 'suit up' chapter that leads into three seperate side-stories. This brings me to my second point. You need to choose which side story to be in. the choices are:

- Go with Micheal Stark and find out more about the government of our world, which involves a lot of sneaking
- Go with Moda and Micheal Onncod to try and track down the next experiment taking place, which leads to fighting on the Jokidoryoku Shinkansen (steam-powered bullet train)
- Go with James Wallace to find Longfellow hiding in the city underground, which involves a lot of mecha fighting

If you do not choose, I will choose for you. You have a few days. Each story will get it's own chapter starting from chapter four. I will release chapters four to six simultaniously. Choose wisely...

THIS MESSAGE APPLIES TO EVERYONE ELSE
Thanks for reading my chapter! If you liked it, then like comment and add me as a favourite builder. Also, are you sad that you didn't realise about this CYOA and still want to take part in it? Quoting Timothy Wallace Awesome chapter, Declan! I love the title!
Thanks. It was beardless's idea for the sauce, so I thought it would be an interesting chapter name! :)
Quoting Reaper the Ultimate . I'll go with James Wallace. Mech fighting FTW!
It's kinda already supposed to go like that, since you're currently the only one with a mecha (even if it is smaller). I was gonna put you there anyway, so you choosing it makes it easier. :)
Quoting Garrett A. Michael Stark. Gale's for all practical purposes a ninja.
Well, that'll be interesting. There could be a brotherly moment before you leave. Also, it would mean that the others will get cool tech for themselves...

Quoting Stephen Boe You know what RWBY is? Awesome, do you like it?I purposely did not include the gun because I didn't want to completely copy it.
Yes, I do know what RWBY is. Perhaps, since I want it to be completely original, I make machetes that fold up. Sound cool? I don't want ANYTHING to be copied...

Quoting Stephen Boe Like what Reaper said, a masterpiece of a chapter. I like how my nickname is Art, though I would like it if he is sometimes called Arty. For my weapon I want a scythe that can fold up. And he's REALLY good at using it. For my choice, I'll go with James Wallace.
Okay, sounds good. Say, the scythe folding up thing sounds familiar. You've been watching RWBY, haven't you? It's cool, I'll make a reference in there for it...

Quoting Reaper the Ultimate . Another masterfully written chapter. I am impressed with the Reaper, oh indeed I am. I'll have to wait a little before I make my ultimate choice. The title is quite good, reminds me of the level names Bungie used to come up with for its games.
I've never played a game by bungie, but your praise is most appreciated. Thank you.
Quoting BrickCity101 11 Do the choices apply to people in our world? If so, I'm gonna go with Michael Stark.
The choices apply to everyone, so yes. I'll put you with him.
Quoting Thatch Gears Very nice! Quinton Smith Turned out very nicely.. I can't wait to see him in his psychotic fighting scene!
It'll be really fun to write, I can tell!
Quoting Beardless Dwarf Awesome! Since I'm hiding in the underground I suppose I really don't have a choice for the next chapter. Also I already have my weapons but I wouldn't mind picking up a few grenades from the real world (assuming I'm hiding there). Keep up the good work!
