NSV/F-045 "Astera"-Class Survey Frigate
Seen here is the Kilestian Commonwealth's premiere science vessel prototype, the Astera approaching a spatial anomaly on a routine survey mission. While the Capricorn-class battlecruiser focuses on military functions, the Astera-class is designed to supplement the Destiny-class in the Kilestian space-navy's scientific mission. Using its advanced sensors and the expanded capabilities of its particle lens, the Astera-class can also serve in a limited military capacity as a support vessel.

What an awesome ship. Loving the rear view.

You have to do some tweeks to POV-Ray to set it up but there are instructions on the LDD to POV-Ray Convertor website. When you do your first renders, start fairly low resolution e.g. 800x600. The more pixels, the longer it takes. Turn the quality down, to start with too. Don't bevel transparent parts (there's a tick box for this). Even then, it can hours for a render to be done.

Quoting David Roberts Another great ship. I like the symmetrical back half and the asymmetry at the front. Hav you ever seen LDD to POV-Ray convertor for rendering you digital designs? You could use the renders to make even more realistic pictures of your ships. http://www.flickr.com/groups/lddtopovray/
I have tried it, but I couldn't get it to work.

Quoting Daniel Bozarth Awesome ship, i love how you actually have the little ships inside of it. Also, would you let me modify this for a game a play, i just love the body of it and think it would make great submarine/carrier. I will give you credit in the model.
You may not modify my work for your game. This was made for a roleplay I'm participating in, and I would prefer if no one else used it.
