Battle of UruBaen Josh O vs Jacob Pennington
Well I wanted a moc off to prepare for the Moc Olympics. Jacob accepted my challenge and we chose the category Battle for Urubaen for the book Inheritance by Christopher Paolini as our category. I tried many new techniques and had a lot of fun on this. Please excuse the pictures. My camera is slowly dieing and the quality is getting bad. It is 4 years old.
About this creation
Most of the build speaks for itself. If you do not know Eragon then it could be confusing soooooo.
Their was a bad king and the rebel force called the varden opposed him. They attack his city. Their army consists of Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Urgals (kinda like orcs), and Wercats. Roran cousin to the dragon rider Eragon is a huge hero of the day!
The varden were poor so they could not afford uniforms and are very mixmatched while the army of Galbitorix (bad king) wears crimson or red.

Roran Stronghammer Cousin to Eragon Shadeslayer.

Remember this as the Day that you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow!

Good Luck Jacob!
****Camera Issues*****
all my pics look really good on my camera with an all white background but on the cpu you can see the sheets of paper I use. Any suggestions?

I'm reading Inheritance at the moment. I am a big fan of Pollini's work. You capture it very well, but you probably should get Roran a new hammer.

Quoting Stephen Boe Awesome build! The smashed section is superb! Are you still donating prizes for the Reading Olympics?
Unfortunately I'm not. Sorry about that whole fiasco. Josh

Very nice stuff. I love the smashed wall portion--awesome work on all the angles and SNOT. The giant crossbow/ballista is great, as is the action. It feels a little crowded, but such is the nature of giant battle scenes. Brilliant work all around!

Good stuff! Some nice angles, and I love that ballista. I think you could have spent a bit longer on colour coordination and maybe cleaned it up a bit so it's a bit spacier, but a very nice scene!

Quoting Ian Spacek It's been quite a while since I've really read any of these books, but if I'm remembering the right battle, it looks quite accurate!
Thanks!

It was tough, but I have made my decision. Though your detailing and exploding wall are superb, my vote goes to your opponent. His wall was better, and that won me over. Incredible work!

Quoting David the Fire Ninja Jedi Nice work man! Cool MOC-off! Even though I like your opponent's wall design better, you had a bunch more techniques to show off! The broken wall, the cobblestone in the back, some foliage in the front, and a ballistic. You get my vote!
I own absolutely no wall pieces. :( I could make way better walls!

Quoting Halhi 141 You'll see three buttons on the right side of the curves menu, click on the white one then click on the part of the background that you want to be white and it will turn it white.

Quoting Halhi 141 For an all-white background, I'd recommend using the curves tool on http://pixlr.com/editor and adjust the white balance. Anyway, looks good!
How do you do the curve thingy and what does it do?
