F-90 Phoenix
The newest fighter for the Unified Territories of Anothia. I swear my nations motto should be "beauty is overrated". Oh well, thanks for viewing, please rate and comment.
About this creation
F-90 Phoenix:
Top Speed: Mach 4.5
Weight: 6.4
Armor: Titanium quatraborite , aluminum, carbon nano tubes, active camo, RAM, and 2x flare launchers
Primary Armament: 12x internal hardpoints (shown here with 6x Aim-40 Razorback AMRAMs and 6x Aim-14 Demon cluster AMRAMs)
Secondary Armament: Gau-60 25mm minigun and 2x external hard points (often removed as shown here)
Power Plant: 2x Pratt & Witney F-3780 Ramjet engines, 3x Pratt & Whitney F-190 Jet engines (pulse jet mode included)
Combat Range: Classified (believed to be over 100,000 miles)
Crew: 1

The first exclusive air superiority fighter for the UTA, the F-90 is to slowly replace some of the other UTA fighters.

Stealthy and fast, the F-90 can be outfitted for ground attack, but this is a rare set-up.

Lots of engines, the F-90 can operate with only 1 and fight effectively with only 2.

The tail section was copied from the F/A-47 Aurora based on the success of the engine design.

My first plane with multiple weapons bays and VTOL, I am pleased with out come.

The cockpit features many advanced avionics, including and AI fly-by-waire system that can control the aircraft to a limited degree and give the F-90 incredible maneuverability.

Oh, a door! What's behind it.

Flare launchers! Each of the launchers has 200 flares capable of confounding most SAM and AMRAMs.

Rockets, design of rotating rack inspired by Z Eli "Sierra" Sykes.

Vertical lift fan for VTOL, based of the F-35 configuration.

The two middle engines independently move for added maneuverability.

Full VTOL set up. This is the grey aircraft on the Greenback Class carrier.

Another door? what could possibly be here?

Nothing? Well thats a let down.

Surprise! Minigun! Didn't see that comin' did ya'. For last resort only but still cool.

Quoting Christian Ruiz Just finding out this great piece now, have you ever played with the idea of making a mini of this aircraft?
Thanks. I've though about it a bit, but never really got around to doing it. If you liked this, I'd recommend you check out the improved version (F-90B)

Quoting jack kenyon An impressive fighter, I think due to the lack of AI it could be classed as a 6/7th gen fighter, incorporating many advanced features, but not quite tipping over into the top band. A few things that would make it even better. Thrust vectoring, landing gear, a more detailed cockpit (some of my fighter's details won't work in LDD but you could try experimenting) and replacing the exhaust novels with ones of your own design, preferably with vectoring and Infra red shielding.
Thanks for the tips. Version 2 is in the works, it had retractable landing gear, improved thrust vectoring is being experimented with. Also, I'm 95% sure in the pic with the cockpit I mentioned an AI system.

An excellent looking aircraft. Welcome to D&C II, if you need any tips or ideas for aircraft, check out some of my designs. It's my specialty, and i'd be happy to help if you ever have builders block.

Thank you. If you have a landing gear solution you're willing to share I would appreciate that very much.

Quoting Matthew Sylvan That is a beautiful aircraft, but those wing engines kinda ruin it. Kt has some nice features too (btw, rotating missile launcher is my design, check my Air Superiority MOC), the minigun was a big surprise. Maybe next time add a working landing gear.
Thank you. I had only seen the rotating launcher on Zach Eli "Sierra" Sykes' stuff though. Working landing gear has been one of my biggest problems, as I have never come up with a good solution. I've experimented with it on the F/A-47 but it took up too much space. Version 2 may include that.
