Rivendell
My entry into the final round of the Middle Earth MocAthalon.
About this creation

Men's Bracket, Category: Rivendell
The Fellowship of the Ring has begun their quest, and is journeying towards Mt. Doom! But first, they go to Rivendell to discover the fate of the One Ring! Well, the discussion isn't going to be pretty, though the city probably is!

My first build to include motorized parts, this MOC was a challenge from start to finish.

Nevertheless, I am pleased with the result.

I had to pilfer quite a few profile bricks from my sister's Weathertop set for all these arches.

The tree was a last-minute addition, but it came out pretty well.

I'm not nearly as satisfied with these rocks as the ones in the front, but at the end of the build my creativity (and pieces) were burned out.

The sneaky little path. Good thing elves are skinny.

As of now, I can't upload a video of the motorized waterfall since I don't have a Youtube account--is there a way to simply upload videos from your computer? You'll just have to trust me: it moves ;)

Thank you judges for this epic contest, and thank you Mr. Vauban for a great final round! I can't wait for the results.

Also, this is a sort-of goodbye, for now. My cousin and I will be working on a large-scale castle build for much of the future, and as such my castle bricks will be busy for a long while. That being said, I will try to stay active, perhaps branching into some sci-fi vignettes.

Thanks for looking, and Soli Deo Gloria!

-A M

Quoting R Elegost Brilliant Work, like always :D When are you bringing out more of your great creations?
Thank you! :) Lord willing, soon. I've got a big build that's been my project pretty much all summer that's finally getting near finished up. After that I've got plenty of ideas for smaller builds and vignettes that I should be able to churn out faster.

Quoting Flare . Lovely scene, quite impressive! The only nitpick I have (its hard to have since I like the build so much!) is that with so much light grey it starts to get a little hard to differentiate between different aspects, but its forgivable, no worries. Great work!! :)
Thanks, Flare! I agree, I probably should have gone with a different color tree. Thanks for the critique!

Quoting KW Vauban Congratulations for winning this contest. I like your Rivendell. It shows "another corner" of the village. The rockwork and the tree are really awesome.
Thank you very much, I believe your build was worthy of winning just as much, and your presentation was better in my opinion! ;)

Quoting Stephen Boe This is seriously one of THE BEST Rivendell builds out there (the very best being Blake Baer's and Jack Bittner's collaborative) but this one is still really good! The rock work is stellar as well as the architecture presented in the build! Amazing job!
