M34A1 "Firefly" Tank Destroyer
Although considered obsolete decades ago, I have decided to build a tank destroyer. Technically not an artillery piece due to its low caliber, this tank destroyer still deals massive damage. Instead of lobbing a huge shell at an enemy, it uses fast mobility and low profile to its advantage. It can sneak into a good hiding spot and wait. When it sees a target, it opens fire with its very high velocity and super accurate 88 mm gun. Since it is a smaller gun, and thus has smaller, lighter shells, it can reload very fast. It nearly always hits exactly where you point it. However, it is not without flaws. It has very little gun depression so while it can easily hit the bottom of a tank with its low profile, it will have trouble shooting when cresting a hill. Aside from the well sloped frontal armor, it is not hard to penetrate the sides and there is no armor in the rear or on top. This the bad side of having amazing speed (around 55-60 m/hr) while not being a gasaholic like my M57. All in all, it is very accurate with a high rate of fire, great speed, and excellent penetration, but very lacking in armor and gun depression.
About this creation

Finally, I have a tank destroyer! My army is getting bigger... Anyway, this has to be one of my most frustrating builds (it fought me all the way through) but it is also one of my most favorite things I've built. Seriously, this thing is way cooler than pictures present it.

Overhead view, as you can see it is open topped. If you haven't guessed by now, I take a German's approach to my tanks (e.i. the angled armor, accurate guns, and dark gray). Not to say I copy German design, but rather favor it greatly. Go Germany (not Nazis)!

Six extra rounds of ammunition plus wherever else they can put some...

Crew can sit semi-comfortable...

Exhaust pipe. That's a spare road wheel on the side. There is another one on the other side...gotta have symmetry.

Good view of its low profile, very easy to hide :D And do I really have to show how my suspension works again? You know by now, right? Well if you haven't seen it look at my other tanks in this folder :)

Extra tracks, also act as another armor layer...dead drivers don't drive very fast. And i dind't take a picture of it, but the driver's hatch opens.

Really long but very accurate and fast firing 88 mm gun (there's more German for you). I was going to tell you a joke about the gun, but it was too long...Okay that was bad...

No gun depression :(

But we can always run over it :)

By the way, this is an up-close of the makeshift artillery gun i use to represent enemy forces in many of my tank MOCs.

Comparison time! The Firefly has an even lower profile than my M12 (the light tank).

That is one dead artillery gun...

Well thanks for viewing, please tell me what you think in the comments and rate! Thanks, bye :D

Quoting Lone Wolf 1201 I can't believe it took me this long to check this out. -_- Anyways, nice build! The angling on the frontal armour and gun mantlet is nice, although the crew cab seems a bit tight. How many tankers can fit in that? :P Frankly,I'm amazed you have enough pieces to keep all those together at the same time. Also, you NEED to make a how-to for the suspension.
I've been working on my tanks and this one received an extension in crew area, i may show all the updates for my tanks in one Moc. I could put a short how-to in there as well.

looks awesome! try putting it in some more groups. The fact that it has suspension is great too. (maybe you should try making a R/C tank one day!)

Awesome build, looks very angular and menacing. Great suspension too, brilliant stuff!

Quoting Alex Sonny The angled superstructure looks awesome, but it doesn't really remind me of any German tanks because it's so modernly angled in the front. Everything is awesome, just the gun mantle could use some work. Awesome! P.S. I almost thought I was gonna see a Sherman, but this was equally awesome!
Thanks. Its not based off any German tank in particular, but has characteristics of German tanks (88 mm, high accuracy gun is a dead give away). And i think you forgot to rate :/
