An entry for round two of Mister Xenomurphy's Superhero Contest in the SUPERHERO division. Built for category A: "Superhero’s pet in 1:1 Scale*"
About this creation
Mr. Xenomurphy's Superhero Contest 2013

After seven years of writing Batman, Grant Morrison ended his run on various titles including Batman and Robin and Batman Incorporated. While many of the ideas from this run were controversial, the introduction of Batman's son, Damian Wayne, with Talia al Ghul certainly brought out compelling new story lines. In the last year of writing Batman Incorporated, Morrison and artist Chris Burnham introduced Damian's fondness for animals with the introduction of Bat-Cow.

from Batman Incorporated v2 issue #1

Bat-Cow made several subsequent appearances, even offering empathy to Batman in times of solace.

How could I resist such a wonderfully offbeat superhero pet...

As for the contest... I apologize to Mr. Xenomurphy and the judges for not adhering strictly to the rules of the category, however, I make no apologies for my build. There was no second choice besides Bat-Cow to create, and to make up for not building it in 1:1 scale, I included a scale figure of Robin/Damian Wayne. I understand that points will be deducted, but I had fun and that's what this should be about.

Cheers

Sweet job! If you weren't getting points deducted I would say you would be headed straight for the finish line! As it is we'll see, but I'd say you've got a pretty good shot.

Maybe Bat-Cow and Robin were miniaturized by some Bat-ray? ;) Fantastic build, I especially like Robin's shoelaces.

I went as well as last round with a 5 point deduction, otherwise this soooo awesome Dave - Score = 15

Dave my friend, I just wanted you to know that by itself, this build is EASILY worth twenty points. However with the points deduction (which in round one I went with a 5 point deduction) for the size... Ok, carry the one... 15 points. But MAN this iss all kinds of perfection! And of course now... I want a cheeseburger. hahaha ~ Chris.

Wow, this cow looks so realistic! But had to reduce points, because you break the rule. Your Score: 17 Points!

Wow, that cow is just phenomenal! I really like Damian too, he looks fantastic! I feel ashamed of myself for asking this, but what piece are you using for his shoelaces? They look amazing. Anyways, great job, and good luck in the contest! I hope the deduction of points doesn't hurt your score too much! ;)

Very nice entry! Moo-Cow, I mean Bat-Cow is a great build, and so is Robin. I don't know too much about Damian (Surprisingly), but I do know enough to know that getting a cow does not seem too strange--and props for making the build look like the comic page--great job and good luck! ~Tim

Thanks Stu! It may not be a Derby cow, but I did my best :) Can't wait to see what you came up with! ~DK

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy There is really no need to apologise since I know you didn't mean to be disrespectful in any way. This is an absolutely stunning creation and a great addition to the contest. And though there will be some points deduction (sorry, rules are rules), I'm happy that the categories inspired you to come up with this fantastic design. Bat-Cow as a Lego creation IS memorable.
Thanks Thorsten! I'm so glad I could build it, even though it's not truly 1:1 scale. ~DK

Thanks Kayla! It was very much like sculpting when I did the body - I started with a box and then carved away until it started to resemble a cow. ~DK

Quoting Seth Bryan Whoaa. Good show, old boy. This is amazing. The SNOT for Damian's head is fantastic, but that cow is out of this world. Good luck.
Seth, Thanks for the complement. I had to build Robin first so that the cow would be in scale with him. ~DK

Quoting matt rowntRee Robin's shoelaces and the brand are ridiculously clever. This is truly hilarious, both the original comic and this build. I can't believe he actually wrote dialogue for Bat-cow. It's like Timmy on South Park. That cow is stunning and, of course, completely adorable. Robin could not be any more perfect in his proud stance. Fantastic!
