LOM: Loss and Gain - Freebuild
My first Freebuild for Lands of Mythron. A bit of a story that "Fills in some Holes". Lots of Pictures incoming! Enjoy!
About this creation
After being attacked by a bandit on the way to the Mountains of Kord, Isaak and Commander Terowin flee to the Gate of Death, one of two entries into the fabled passage of Shadowlight...

Isaak and Terowin walked at a fast pace up the path. On ether side of the well-worn walkway, Creeping Fingers, a fern-like plant that grew like grass in Mythron, almost overtook the way.

The day was overcast, the wind blowing hard to the south-east. A tree, a silent guardian, stood growing next to an entry into a fabled underground highway. The Passage of Shadowlight, infamous for it's perilous way, was often avoided in favor for safer routes. But with Rainoians and Bandits on all the main roads, even this was safer.

Tired from traveling all night, the duo decided to rest until night. It's not like the creatures of darkness cared what time it was underground. Terowin, agreeing to take first guard, turned to Isaak.

"Is it going to be too windy to use that... that.. conjuring of yours?"

Isaak stared at him. "Why does it matter much..?" Isaak had not been in the best of moods after the attack. But truly, it was after showing his own power.

"Well... I thought if trouble came, you might summon some fire and then-" Terowin started, but Isaak cut him off.

"I can't summon fire, I control it. It's a long story.. and I don't want to share."

Isaak turned to sleep. Terowin looked at the path ahead.

"Whether you think it or not, you are talented Isaak. Mythron could use you. I'm not sure why you're so bitter.. but I assume you just want to help, in the most minimal way possible. Is this true?"

Isaak closed his eyes.

"I've already been robbed. Interesting, wouldn't you say? Now I desire to take for Mythron. But, you're right. My power is mine, not the Crown's."

Isaak, overcome by weariness, soon fell asleep.

...

Isaak stood in light.
In front of him, a chest stood, three points adorning it's surface, the symbol of the Mythron High Crown.

...Isaak, curious, opened it...

To his great surprise, a skeleton, the picture of death burst out. Isaak turned to flee...

But the undead grabbed him behind, pulling him into the chest.

Isaak then stood before it.

Suddenly, the impossible happened.

It spoke.

"Come.. you and I have something to discuss." it said.

Isaak stood where he was.

"Are you coming..?" it said.

"Suuurreee... Follow some talking bones. What are you anyway?"

"You will learn.. in time. But now, you will follow me.

Isaak felt complied to obey. Soon a vision appeared before him.

"I didn't do anything sir! Honest-"

"Quiet child! I saw you snatch that apple.. In fact, I've been watching you for some time..."

"Who was that?" said the Skeleton.

"Brom Stormblaze... the man who introduced me to the Professional Treasure hunting business. Apparently, he had been watching me. My father, a high-ranking Mage who taught at the Royal Academy of Magic, died while I was young... at least that's what my mother thought.
I soon fell into thievery as a child. Brom saw potential in me, and being a Wizard himself, taught me what little I know.

'Turns out that I did'nt inherit enough to create fire, only control it."

"So why are you giving up on Mythron, showing that you have been given so much?" the skeleton said.

"It's... the Academy took my father from me. I knew that anger could not hold me back from helping my country.. but I didn't want to give everything, in fear of losing myself."

The Skeleton began to float backwards.

"Selfishness. Fear. Regret. These things must you kill daily.

"Who are you!?" Isaak called.

Further and further it went. And finally, like a voice on the wind..

"I am you. In the future, you WILL do mighty things. But you must first die to yourself."

...

While Isaak slept, an enemy took aim at Terowin.

*THUMP!* The Commander was knocked to the ground, awakening Isaak.

"Ugh.." groaned Terowin. The arrow was one of Wind, not containing a tip, but rather made by an Elf to dissipate upon impact, causing little bleeding, but stunning the opponent.

"IRON AND THUNDER!!!" a Bandit yelled as he charged up the path. Terowin rolled quickly, grabbing his sword, while Isaak, seeing the foe, did the same.

The Mythron commander was past his prime, and a bit slow to oncoming foe. It was soon apparent that he would not be ready for the attack.

Isaak charged, spear ready..

Taking it in both hands, he charged as he yelled, seemingly invigorated by his dream. A new cause was his.

*THUMP!* Isaak bled as he was knocked to the ground, dropping his spear. The Barbarian dragged Terowin from under the tree, and began to hack at his neck armor..

Isaak rolled, still stunned. The Arrow of Wind's impact still rang in his ears.

Taking another swing at the enemy, Isaak caught eye of Terowin, or rather, what was left.

Horrified, the spear was slightly altered in it's course, only knocking the edge of the helmet of his enemy.

Isaak, not fully clear headed from the arrow, barely even dented the helm. This only enraged the Barbarian even more..

And in one fell move, overcame the spear, rushing with pure malicious fury in his eyes.

...Isaak barely had time to pull it back...

Before the man was on top of him. Grabbing Isaak's spear, he pushed with all his might, attempting to kill Isaak..

Darkness began to set in..

*CLANK!* A pickax hit the attacker cleanly on the head. The Bandit was knocked out instantly.

Isaak rolled, pushing the limp body off him.

"Lad, come with me quickly!" Isaak's savior said. He glanced at him. A diminutive man stood before him, or rather, a Mountain Dwarf.

Isaak turned quickly grabbing the one belonging of Terowin, his sword. His name, carved in small letters at the hilt, glinted as he rose to follow the Dwarf.

As the two fled into the mountain, Isaak remembered his dream. Great gain had come here, and then, great loss with Terowin's death.

Truly a fitting scene for a passage named Shadowlight.

Builder's Notes.

Long story.. and my favorite Mythrom build yet! Again, I love the gates. I had challenges with the "Creeping Fingers" and the action scene. I'll remember to save my landscaping for less action paced scenes.

This thing was a pain to put the 'blood' effect in. I think I spent 40 mins JUST doing the scene. As you can see, I'm too lazy to remove the props.

Well, there goes one more for the count! I told someone that I made Mythron History with this build... can you figure out what I did with Isaak that no one has done before?

Thanks for Viewing! Leave a Comment, or a Judgement!"

God Bless!

Awesome I'm almost done with my outpost build and I should post my letter and meeting you. So will you make the dwarf be persuaded by you to join the battle, for this challenge?

Quoting George Marshall Looks great! Confusing, but great! Just wondering, what torso and legs are you using? They look like they are either from Lord of the Rings or Pirates of the Caribbean. Please tell me soon, because I would like to at least TRY to get as close to your character as possible for the Outpost battle. Thanks!
I'm using James Norrigton's legs and torso, and covering it up the flesh color with a bandana. Also, let Chris make his MOC first, that way we can both plan around his.

Quoting Gilbert Despathens Defeats are unusual, but they have happened several times. Sorry, you don't break any new ground there.
Ah.. Well, I've read most, but not all of the stories. I always thought everyone just made their characters 'The epic-hero'.

Quoting Brick Boy Awesome story and build! But were did you get Isaac's torso? It's awesome! -Brick Boy
I got Isaak's torso from the admiral James Norrington Minifig, and added a bandana to cover the tan color.

Alright! I'd best work on that Regional challenge. Let's just say it will involve the dwarf...

Quoting Stephen Boe Cool story! Are the creeping fingers supposed to be the three leafed plant piece? And I have no idea what you did to your character that is unique, what is it?
Yes, That's what I decided to call it. After all, there isn't a real life ground-covering plant that grows like that. Oh, and see my previous comment.

Quoting Gilbert Despathens That's a tough riddle. Let me guess: You had a dream scene. You used a dwarf as a friendly character. You showed blood on someone who survived his wound. You invented a type of sonic projectile. You introduced a pyromage. You built a gate with a skull on top. You used a goggle piece. You used a shako. You referred to a parent. You referred to a mentor. You... I give up. What did you have in mind?
All of those, correct me if I'm worng.... I think I'm the first one to have my character loose in a fight.
