Sleeping With The Fishes
This unfortunate chap got on the wrong side of some wise guys, and now he's sleeping with the fishes.
About this creation
This is my entry for the 'Under The Sea' contest on The Contest Group.

Check out the Under The Sea two-week challenge.

I wanted it to look like the guy was floating, without anything holding him up, I think it looks pretty cool from this angle.

I chose this hair piece as it looks like his hair is a bit more 'floaty'.

A bit of sea life...

I tried a few different techniques here, but I think this one looked the 'floatiest'.

Under the sea, nobody can hear you scream. Or is that space? Either way, he should worry about holding his breath.

Originally wanted to make a bigger, more detailed build, but was unable to order the parts I needed from Bricklink in time. So I had to make do with the existing bricks in my collection, which is why Luke Skywalker's landspeeder has been pulled apart and used for the base.

I hope you like it. Now that you've scrolled down this far, you might as well rate and comment. Also, don't forget to check out The Contest Group.

Nice! Luke 17:1-2 might be why he's down there.

Nice! The way that chain is angled makes it look very realistic. I like the figure, he really looks like a street thug! Great job!

Quoting MCLegoboy ! I say do a Version 2 and post it with all those additions with your Bricklink parts.
It's been taken apart now.

Originality: 9 This is really creative when it comes to theme. Techniques: 5 Eh. I originally though you should have left him unattached to the folliage and take pictures of the build as it was hung upside-down, but this gives more weight to the chain if you look closely. Everything else is the normal underwater stuff but no brick built rocks and the standard clips holding the fish. Presentation: 5 Nothing to really beat you up about. (One blurred picture. How dare you share that one blurred picture and waste my time by making me look at it?!. You disgraceful waste of human flesh and bones! D:< GAWSH!) :) Total: 19/20 Still not too bad of a score. Had you more scenery with rockwork or something, it could have been better. If you still have this put together, I say do a Version 2 and post it with all those additions with your Bricklink parts.

Quoting Halhi 141 Nice one! I like the floaty look of the minifigure, you did a nice job picking out the hair and finding the attachment point without having to resort to using a clear stand! The use of the top half of the boulder piece is also brilliant. Well done!
Yeah, my aim was to avoid using an obvious support, although that was hard to achieve with the fish. I think the boulder is becoming my signature piece (along with the chain) as it keeps popping up. Cheers Halhi, appreciate your comments.

Ahhh. I missed the rock-work part of the specification. Next time I shall add more rocks. Cheers though. Looking forward to the next build.

Originality: 9/10. I love your idea of someone taking a long walk off a short pier, and this captures that perfectly. Techniques: 4/10. The way you made the man float is very inventive, but nothing else has any special techniques or even homemade rockwork. Presentation: 5/5. You have all the links, and no spelling errors. Nice job!

Very cool! I like the way you've attached the minifig to to the base. Personally I think he's freaking out because he touched seaweed while swimming. Ew gross!!!

Aaaaaa! What happened to cement shoes ! If you want somebody wacked right ya gotta do it yourself. That was my version of tony soprano god rest his soul. :-) Awesome build . I love the panicked look on his face , great choice. And the two fish looking at him as if to say" you don't belong here!" Great job

Quoting David . That's... Disturbing. About his lungs, I wouldn't see that as a problem, I'd be worded about my head bursting from pressure. :P
Haha. Maybe the bit of sea he is under is not very deep. It was a lazy wise guy who put him there (just deep enough to fit into the rules of the contest).

Quoting Stephen Boe Cool vignette! Though, shouldn't that guy be dead by the time he is down there?
Maybe. Depends how big his lungs are ;-)
