Quoting cyberfrank 2010 the lock mechanism is neat, I wonder why you did nt use blue as color code, is it the construction division? I agree with Matt, it looks Tonka, maybe a crater baseplate would ve helped to give it more cs flavor, I like the trans-blue cabin a lot!
I love to play with CS colour rules, why not;)

Quoting Nils O. That's great CS spirit, here. The classic mechanism to load and unload the lab unit is perfect. Great job! :-))
I'll never tire of CS.

Quoting matt rowntRee IT'S A TONKA TRUCK IN SPACE!!! Love how rugged it is. Another fun build, sure your son appreciates them. Thanks Pop! Beauty!
I'm trying to construct the vehicle he keeps trying to mak : several strips of lego with multiple wheels a windshield and a spaceman on top. I hope these classic space trucks match his minds eye ideal of a great lego set.

Quoting Gerfy Legorider This is a fresh take/redesign of the Classic Space All-Terrain Vehicle. I like the cab roof design.
One of the best CS sets ever, worth a revisit I think.

Quoting Nick Barrett Great method to connect the lab to the vehicle, great little vehicle too.
The traditional way.

Quoting David Roberts I love the detachable lab. The mechanism reminds me of some of the bigger CS models that I used to look at the catalogues. I like the angled jumper plates on the side too. Like you previous truck, this build looks rugged and fun to play with because it has working features that won't break easily.
Apart for the pipes on the sides which are a bit fiddly he can play with it fine. I think that attachment mechanism was used on classic space for a reason, it is relatively stable and easy for little hands to work.

My son, daughter and I all build together at the weekend. Saturday and Sunday mornings we get the boxes out together and hunker down to some serious construction.

It melts your heart when a 3 and 1/2 tells you "that's very cool". Makes it all worthwhile.
