About this creation

Bio Cup Round 3 Entry
Topic: Take me for a ride!
(Build a sidekick and a vehicle for you're duo)
Theme: Bike
Opponent: Shoto

May I introduce Moaliki and Kennick! Senior members of the Gali Nuva Yacht Club and fishing lake.
Moaliki and Kennick have been best friends for as long as they can remember. They grew up playing in the beaches of Ga-Metru and later reborn on the beaches of Ga-Koro. Thousands of years later on Spherus Magna when both had become Toa the two are still inseparable. At the core of their friendship is fishing. Every weekend the two head out to the Gali Nuva fishing lake and spend the whole day on the water. But today Kennick has called Moaliki over for a surprise.

Moaliki knows they are going fishing so he puts on his Gali Nuva Yacht Club member sash which is required to be worn at all times while on the private lake.

He roles up his fishing gear for the trek to Kennick's auto shop. When Kennick isn't fighting evil or hanging with Moaliki he's working on vehicles in his shop.

All packed up Moaliki sets off to his friends shop.

Moaliki: Hey Kennick! Why didn't we just meet at the lake?

Kennick: Well remember your old bike from Ga-Koro?

Moaliki: We rode that thing everyday!

Well it just got an upgrade!

In Mata Nui's name! It's beautiful! And it's been upsized to fit my Toa form! And you've added a sidecar!

Kennick: Not only that Moa it's also been upgraded to be amphibious! No longer do we need to drag the boat down to the lake all we do is drive straight in!

I even designed a space for our fishing gear!

Lets head out!

Well here are some outdoor shots.

Driving to the lake!

Vrooom!

Back end

Another view.

Here are some shots in the studio.

The bike can also detach and go without the sidecar.

There is room for two on the bike without the sidecar.

The other side of the bike.

Lets have a look at Toa Kennick

Feet. These feet i really like.

Legs

I really tried to work on the shaping here.

Hips. I love these rahkshi heads.

His face. I've been looking to use this mask for so long. Having the sash was my attempt to really try to tie these guys together and give them a unified look.

Arm

Ready to tackle evil.

Back.

Best buds

Fishing all day long in the hot summer breeze. (Hehe hero factory pun)

Now for the beauty shots of the bike. I'm really happy with how this turned out. I really wanted to go for a fifties style of motorcycle because that's my favourite era of motorbikes.

The 3rd wheel. I'm really mad that i didn't have one to match the ones on the bike but this was the best I could do given the time constraint.

The odd shaping of the sidecar is to give it a boat like look. After all it is supposed to be amphibious.

I love this detail.

Back of the boat.

Awkwardly small spare tire is awkward.

This was the hardest part. Looking at a lot of motorcycles from that era they have a second set of forks on the front to form this triangle type thing so I tried to replicate that.

If this isn't npu I don't know what is. For those who are wondering its this piece: here

You can remove the panel there to see the pistons.

Gas tank of Bohrok bits.

Front Seat.

Back Seat.

I had to remove the sidecar but here is the hidden exhaust pipe.

Chain.

One last shot of the bike without the sidecar.

Here's a reference picture that i worked off of when designing my bike.

Well you didn't think I would actually end this page without putting her in the water did you?
From this picture it seems that Kennick forgot the put the brass plug in. (Boat owners you know what i'm talking about)

Fourth Wall.

Well the competition has certainly stepped up this year! This round was much harder for me to come up with a concept for but after learning my theme was a bit more flexible than I originally thought i came up with something I am very proud of. I'm very happy with the overall aesthetic and design. The bike does actually role and steer. Anyway I hope you all enjoyed this very much and good luck to all!

I went away. I came back. "Surely Pho is still around, oh yeah look he is - probably just as good as... ohmygosh." This, you, how,I, it's so cool!!! :D Really nicely done! :D

Great entries! The sidekick looks good and matches its partner quite well. The vehicle is really cool, well-built and polished, and I like the little twist you gave to it so it could fit the 'fisherman' theme of your character. My vote goes to you.

Two extremely different approaches to the theme: on one side, intricate beauty; on the other, meticulous realism. With an equal level of skill and dedication, it is very difficult to choose a winner. I will consider these entries a draw, so I'm going to use the sidekicks at a tie-beaker. I think Kennick makes a better sidekick for Moaliki than Treshawn makes for Shytonic. It's better themed and better refined, so my vote goes to Toa Phosphorous. Well done, both of you, and good luck with the other judges.

Really love the Bike, but I must say I'm not a fan of the sidekick, it's just a little to ordinary in design, nothing really pops on it. Just that bike is awesome! Love the fisherman concept :D

I guess it's a very good-looking motorbike and neat sidecar, but I don't feel it truly captures the essence of a Bionicle vehicle. I dunno. Maybe I just like me some sort of barrier between Bionicle and real life vehicles, but that's my preference speaking. Good luck!!!

Quoting Taile of the verdent pyre... OK first, great bike. Second just a few nit picks the seating is weird, the stronius armor is ugly on that sweet motorcycle. I've grown up around and learning about motorcycles so trust me when I say, its awesome but not perfect.
I've never ridden a motorcycle in my life but the stronious armour was an attempt at bags or travel packs.

Nice one! Kennick is cool, I like the legs, and I like the Bike! It doesn't really strike me as an "Aqua"bike, all of the underwater stuff is a bit too subtle I think, but It's still a mighty impressive Bike. Good luck in the contest!

This is epic! Captured the 50's style motorbike style very well, from the exhaust to the chains and to the (very difficult, somewhat messy, but completed) double-fork thing in the front. Kennick is also very well built, and I liked the idea of the sashes to tie them together. I wish that the bike was a bit more colorful (it is a boat right? Or at least a bike, people customize bikes) or was somewhat color-coordinated with either Moaliki or Kennick, but that's a minor nitpick considering its design. Great job!

That's just... wow. Amazing bike, this contest is really bringing out some of the best MOCs I've seen :D
