Now with real Volkswagen Golf Mk1 Gti action! Overused caption away!
About this creation

The front. There it is, in all its glory. Note the red trim.

The side, note the black trim. (There's much trim to be had.)

The back, which gets no trim. Sorry, back.

Angry back demands trim!

*Ahem* Moving right along, then.

Plenty of opening bits, and as you can see I've been fiddling with the camera a fair bit. I haven't made it any better, but that's not entirely the point. (Yes it is!)

The mighty engine bay! Look at all that kit!

Independently opening hood, very nifty.

The enormous trunk, which has been in no way been made to look bigger than it really is.

Dashboard!

Plaid seats! (Ignore the white bricks, I've successfully misplaced/used/lost the two I have in black)

Dual glovebox!

At this point, I could use the spare captions in the random view to enlighten you with facts about the Volkswagen Golf Mk1 Gti.

Fun Fact #1: The Volkswagen Golf Mk1 Gti has an incredibly long name. 23 characters including spaces.

Fun Fact #2: The original Volkswagen Golf Mk1 Gti produced 110 hp at 6100 rpms.

Fun Fact #4: Fun Fact #3 had to be removed for interfering with Polish trade routes.

Triumphant Volkswagen Golf Mk1 Gti triumphantly bids you a good day!

Very interesting rendition of this legendary vehicle. It looks blocky and all but it definitely looks like "Rabbit" in all it's form. Bravo

Yeah, GTI rules! You really got close with this one and (as always) you've added an amazing amount of details. The rubber band you have used for the red stripe on the front grill (you did, didn't you?) is very clever. The only thing that doesn't work perfectly is the side view, especially the wheelbase (too short), the height of the roof section (top chop?) and the angle of the windscreen (too high) - see this photo: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:1982_VW_Mk1_Golf_GTi_02.jpg - The rest is perfect. Anyway, great job (5/5)! :-))

Good shape nice use of bricks and one of the more accurate and obscure cars I've seen on here, one inkling I have however is that a mk1s rear lights were shorter (thinner however you will)and could do with being a brick shorter, not to detract from this top model :P

Golfy goodness! Love the angry back. One question: Why was it called the Rabbit over here in the states? The Scirocco was the Scirocco and not the Santa Ana Winds. Weird.

Nice work as usual Senator. A few oddities like duel opening bonnet aside, it's spot-on. The mk5 GTI I had last year was a great bit of kit. Nearly twice the power of this though... 9/10 : )

Good, but she's a bit... well how can I say that, "Strange"(?)... Looks disproportionated some ways, but it's cool, too! That give it a kind of Cartoonish look!!! :D 4/5!!!

I always wanted to have one of these as my first car but had to settle for a Rover 214SLi instead: not in the same league. This build looks spot on to me, authentically complete with the VW badge missing from the front, stolen by Beastie Boys fans. Excellent!

Very nice, very accurate! Looks just like it; maybe a tad bit to tall (like a plate's height), but still really nice! I imagine that you take apart each of your cars to make more, right?
