Back To The Future DeLorean DMC-12 Time Machine (BTTF 2)
The DeLorean from Back to the future was modified to be a time machine. When it reached 88 MPH it would time travel to the time of choice. Leaving a trail of fire from where it's driving during the transition from time to time. It required a humongous 1.21 'jigawatts' of energy (if converted to horse power terms, that would be equal to about 1.6 MILLION horsepower
About this creation
This is my LEGO model, which is probably my best MOC yet! :D it's functions are opening gullwing doors, trunk lid, and glove box, it can also be converted to hover mode :)

This particular version was based of my favorite version of the DeLorean, from Back To The Future part 3.

Rendered images by Blackout who actually rendered more than i asked for, thanks man! :D

yeah, so i figured out a stronger mechanism for the hover mode, but it wasn't worth it to re rerender it,

This shows the new mechanism in action! :D

Quoting XY EZ But just a question: a lot of your creations are made on LDD right? How can you built such a big thing like this of this quality on LDD? I tried to do a 4 wide on it, after 3 hours I gave up! It's an immence work isn't it? Anyway, I think this is on of your best mocs here! Rerate: 5/5
Thanks! :-) Sadly, yes. You have to learn the tricks around LDD. I actually build them differently in this than when I build in real bricks. (I have a few WIPs now), in real bricks I would build chassis first, details last, but it's the other way around on LDD. It's pretty easy for me to do it this way now, but still I much prefer real bricks. I know this doesn't really answer the way you wanted it to, though it's not exactly something I know how to explain.

There must be something in the air lately with respect to DeLoreans. On my drive to work today, I passed one on the highway, and its license plate read "MCFLY" (I swear I'm not making this up). What impressed me is how small the DeLorean is -- it has a similar shape to an early Toyota MR2, but I think the DeLorean may be even smaller than the MR2. What's even weirder is that this morning I also passed an old Cadillac with a set of bull horns attached to the hood. That's something you almost never see outside of Texas (I live in Massachusetts).

Quoting Nils O. Yeah, that's so cool, just what i expected after the last WIP pictures on flickr! That's how the CUUSOO set should have looked like! Great job! :-)) P.S.: I think now I can order a set (when it's for sale here) to get the printed tiles and the figs and then build a model similar to your one ;-))
Haha, thanks :) Cool! in bigger scale like this?

Quoting Alex B Very good. The hover mode mechanism is very well thought out. :-) Now for a couple of questions. Will you ever make a stock DeLorean DMC-12? Also How do you get a video from Flickr on to MOCpages?
Thanks a lot! :D The stock is in the works. ;) You go to the flickr page, under the video it has a little icon with a box with an arrow sticking out. you hit that, then hit grab HTML code, you copy and paste that, hope this helps! :)

Thanks a lot! :D I agree, that was quite the disappointment, when i first heard that the DeLorean passed the test, I was hoping they would make a great looking set!

Thanks! It means a lot from such an incredible builder such as you! :D I can believe it ;) my next-door neighbor actually has a regular one :) I kind of want one, even if they're considered one of the worst, I'll just have to keep a few tools inside if the door fails one me... ;)

Quoting Matt Bace Awesome! With this model, you are leaps and bounds ahead of the set that LEGO is getting ready to release. The sloping hood and half-bevel gears on the wheels do a lot to improve the appearance over your previous iteration. Great job on this one.
Thanks Matt! in fairness the LEGO one is smaller scale, though my other version, which was supposed to be my 'competitor' to it was smaller so it would be a fair match :) This one is a definite on by To Build list! :D
