Apennines’ House

About this creation
Forced to empty the garret of my grandparents’ house I found a small wooden box full of Lego bricks which I was playing with in the late 60’s. My heart was thumping! I desperately wanted to pay honour to my father (the designer) and my grandfather, who personally contributed to build the house where the bricks were kept for so long. The best way was to build that same house in Lego.
I bought some sets and discovered how many new shapes, sizes, colours and building techniques are available nowadays and this drove me mad … I might become an active AFOL … Internet could help !
In a rainy afternoon I started drawing my project on paper and days later sorting, sorting, sorting and building.
Here I am now, after some time, proud of my very first MOC, despite basic and very far from perfect. It represents the evolution of the house from the early 60’s - when it was built - till future years when my sister and I dream to build a small swimming pool ! All scenes represent an event which happened in real life, despite not all at the same time !
Some details:
- it’s about 100cm long, 80cm large, 50 cm high;
- the house is built on a plate 50x50 studs (from the 60’s); scale 1:28
- all floors can be taken apart for the pleasure to see the furniture inside !!!
- Only one piece is not Lego: the wooden trencher used to create the hillside (this in honour of my grandmother and mother who were using it to prepare hand-made delicious ravioli ….in the same house).
Now you can guess where I am from …and how “young” I am !!!!
Yes, you are right: Italy - Parma … but I’ll not disclose my age…. I’m a lady, you know?
Thanks to Gas for the pictures and to Sister for the movie which is on youtube …http://youtu.be/3C36uantt-c
Thanks for watching, commenting and giving suggestions for my future MOCs !
Ciao.

Some views all around the house:

Ring the bell and come in

Mum is waiting for us

My uncle still wearing his pyjamas

my grandpa with his beehives

My sister in the swimming pool ? Dream!

Hi, Megan, hard to deliver the mail up here? Take a rest!

Let's switch the utilities on ..

Ciao Daddy, already repairing something here in the garage?

Please, come to the first floor

The living room

The kitchen ... who left the fridge open? Sorry, no fresh beer for the moment!

... but the BBQ is almost ready

can't miss this room

One bedroom

and the other one

Overview of first floor

Renovating the second floor: the painter

new parquet in the living room

The attic where, not far from the cobweb, I found the old bricks

They are repairing the window which broke down during winter but
eventually we can relax on the terrace and enjoy the Apennine's pamorama!

Oh this is brilliant!! So many great details and beautiful rooms to enjoy, not to mention the detailing on the house. The beehives, the crystal ceiling lamp, the terrace, painters-scene, the swimming pool, the living room, the garden, the bathrooms, the garage... All awesome! I would love to be able to build like this :-)

This is awesome! On the outside, it looks like it could be a display! However the inside gives it an appearance of a play set! Nice work!

Oh my, what can I say. This is truly a wonderful build. Love all the details inside and out. My favorite is how you did the toilet paper roll in the bathroom. The minifig activity is also fun. I'm so glad you found that box.

Quoting A M Really, really excellent work! The size alone is quite impressive for a beginning builder, but the detail work is also great. I love the slanted driveway and all the interior rooms. Can't wait to see more from you!
