Main Street Palace Cinema - Godwin's Hollow
As with all things in life there have been some recent changes down at the Main Street Cinema. In a move, popular with some, the Hollow's movie theater has merged with the nationwide "Palace" movie theater chain and is now the Main Street Palace Cinema. While the facade of the building is one that almost any movie goer should be familiar with, the parent corporatation did let our folks in town have some latitude with the interior design so they have been able to retain some of the old theater's charm. Stop by sometime and see what they've done with the place!
About this creation

Main Street Cinema's rebirth as the branded "Palace Cinema"

This is the north facing of the building - right on Main Street East.

Movie goers entering the cinema...

This is the east side of the building facing Mercy General Hospital. You can see some of the upcoming attractions as you walk by...

Close up of the front door and the exterior ticket counter. You can buy tickets outside or inside the building.

Here you can see the interior ticket counter along with most of the rest of the ground floor. The interior of the building is where the original owners were allowed a little leeway to depart from the standard franchise decor.

The original concession stand which has come to be a bit of a hallmark of the theater has been incorporated into the new design. It was given a fresh coat of paint and had to be downsized just a little but is otherwise just how the people of Godwin's Hollow remember it.

A wider shot of the entire ground floor. You can see the main attraction poster behind the counter and patrons in line.

A top down shot of the ground floor interior.

As you enter the main theater after coming upstairs this is the main seating area you would see.

From here you can see the main screen - showing nothing less than Star Wars!

Patrons of the Main Street Cinema (as it was formerly known) always enjoyed the regal nature of the main theater commenting on it's 'Old Hollywood' style. In rebranding to the Main Street Palace Cinema the owners worked hard to maintain that feeling while still including the 'Palace' look. All in all I think they did a reasonable job. Must be a double feature of Star Wars and 300 unless I missed the Greek soldiers on the Death Star.

The Main Street Palace Cinema from across the street. The photographer must've been standing in the construction site for the new Park Place Regency Hotel.

An aerial shot of the new cinema. Across the street you can see the hotel's construction site and the west side of the East End Shopping District.

Looking east along Main Street East you can see Mercy General, the Main Street Palace Cinema, and Godwin's Hollow Pet Store, and more...

Pulling in on the Main Street Palace Cinema from the street. Good or bad the new look is here to stay. We feel confident the citizens of Godwin's Hollow will embrace this fresh face on an old friend.

Your creativity in lego bricks has helped inspire my own creations and dioramas (although few make it onto my page.) Keep up the amazing work love to see more of the cities interior design!

Thanks for all of your very kind comments - its always fun the hear what other MOCers think of our little city. We're still tinkering with the hospital (which is a near replica of LG Orlando's hospital). We've never been very happy with the way it sat on it's corner and have been thinking about reworking it. The interiors are 90% complete but if we start over with the facade we'll have to redo the insides as well. It's on the schedule so we might be able to have something up before the end of the summer. Thanks again for stopping by.
Quoting cyberfrank 2010 I can t wait until you show inside the hospital.

I already bought this one, you did a great job in the interior, there was nt as much seats in the original, + your projector is way better, aside from the movie posters, you left it original outside, it looks great in any case, I did something totally different with them [x2], lol, I watched 300 yesterday! well done!
